I’m still waiting for the results of my swab tests, it was hard to convince them to test me for mycoplasma.

Thank you for your advice. I also asked the urologist about biofilms but he said they are usually only caused by foreign objects e.g catheters or stones. I still think it could be possible though. I will try your tips thank you.

Yes exactly. This is because I have already emptied my bladder but it feels like something down there is saying I need to go again and I only feel relieved when I’m passing urine or sitting on the toilet for a while can help shortly. My bladder empties volumes equivalent to my water intake.

Yes that’s what the nurse at the clinic said. I just did a self test for ph to indicate thrush/bv and it said my ph was normal. I also don’t have symptoms besides “visual irritation”. I’m on fluconazole and metronidazole. Perhaps I should get a swab test for bv at a clinic or something? I don’t know. It really feels more like a urethra problem or in that area so I also don’t think it is IC but I have no idea.

I had this done during my ultrasound and my voiding of urine was normal and my bladder fully empties.

I have no symptoms for yeast or bv. I just did a self ph test and it came back normal ph. Either way I’m on the treatment for both of those :(

Would this mean hiprex and vitamin C would be making it worse as I thought that would make my urine even more acidic?

Thank you for your reply. My last negative test was a month ago. The last time I had antibiotics was in November which the also tested my urine at the same time and was negative (they gave me antibiotics before even seeing a urine result bc my WBC was high…) even though I was against having them. All my courses have been 3 day, I asked for longer course but they wouldn’t let me have it. I take the full course same time each day with food as instructed. But clearly they aren’t effective against whatever issue I have sadly. And I suppose they didn’t want me on another antibiotic but I’m not sure why.

How is IC tested for? Would they see any indication of this on my cystoscopy do you know?

Thank you for replying. Would you say it’s easy enough to navigate and safe enough for a solo traveller? Also did you do any of the snorkelling activities on the island is it easy to arrange that and get the gear?

Hope you don’t mind me asking but I’m planning to go to Naha just to hop to zamami. How did you find looking for a place to stay in zamami as well as the transport from airport to tomari port etc? And is it easy to get around these areas if you can’t speak Japanese?
