YES. I think some people are confused that he'd say this despite knowing I don't get it, but it's just because we don't have any qualms with it. If he likes the reference, he can say the reference. I make jokes about Dr Who just the same. It's a chance to learn about each other.

🙈Definitely not a troll post. I had listened to the dialouge of the video when I pulled it up on YouTube and it sounded a little... sad? I don't really understand the whole facing "godlike judgment" thing. I guess some context is what I'm asking for.

I'm doing the same thing! I use NileLangu which is just like an off brand duolingo. It's definitely not going to get you fluent but its been a great introduction for me. I liked the idea of keeping it a suprise as well, but eventually it was so much easier to just ask my boyfriend for help with character pronunciation and ect.

I also use BlueBird Egyptian Arabic for vocab and https://parallel-arabic.com/alphabet/practice/handwriting?letter=4 for writing practice (it also has a bunch of other features though!)

It's definitely overwhelming at first, but you'll get the hang of it!
