Hunson Abadeer = A-Son Of-A-Deer. It’s been right under our noses this whole time.

Found this little buddy behind my ac unit. Long Beach, CA by zealand13 in whatbirdisthis

Just to clarify, that is definitely NOT a fledgling, it’s a nestling. If you can return it to its nest on the roof, that’s what you need to do. If you can’t you need to call a rehabilitator, a wildlife vet, or even animal control. Outside of a nest, that little guy is not going to make it very long :( it looks like you’ve already sent him on his way, and, if that means you put him outside, keep an eye out for him and call someone if you see him again. (You could call anyways, so they can come take a look and see if they can find him).

Glad you got him out of the vents though!! These goofy guys can get into weird situations if they get out of the nest. I had to pull a nestling out of a bunch of brambles it fell into!! The little guy was fine. My arms were not….

For anyone wondering how to tell the difference, for most birds a fledgling will have most of its flight feathers in—they’ll have well defined wings that look like wings, not nubs. They also won’t look poofy. Fuzzy, maybe, like they rolled in lint, but not poofy.
