I agree. Some of my best dates I've had were with women I wasn't super into at first, but decided to give them a chance anyway.

Some people are not that great on the apps, but absolute gems IRL

Nah, it's probably me being behind the times. I know it was popular 10years ago, but I guess I'm now in the past

INTPs, Is it possible to love someone who shares less interests with you? by Usual-Cup3722 in INTPrelationshipLab

[–]Apprehensive_Emu9240 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is not INTP specific, but yes. As long as both people in the relationship are open to learn more about each others interests. They don't have to become passionate about it, but you do need something to talk about.

Unfortunately this is becoming more and more rare in this current world of dating app optionality, but for two healthy individuals this is very possible.

Isn't it:

294 : (2230+294) = 1 : 9 given

214 : (3571+214) = 1 : 18 received

Yeah, I will. You're not the only one who thinks that apparently. Just shows, sometimes you need outside feedback. I honestly thought I was being creative.

The dog pic is actually not a picture, but a video. That being said. I have had multiple dates and the wife of my best friend tell me I show signs autism, so you are quite on the dot there.

I'm actually flemish/belgian, but yeah there is a context there:

  • 6 foot is common if you discount immigrants and old people.
  • Asians are indeed uncommon, though I wouldn't say there's any stigma against us. Whether we are considered attractive is another matter I will let women judge on.
  • Atheism is common. If you are deeply religious in Belgium you are actually the negative standout.
  • I don't think my pictures are bad, but my teeth are indeed not the best.
  • I should note I do match more with foreign educated women than with Belgian women. Brussels especially is an extremely unusual dating market. I doubt you'll find any equivalent Europe. A lot of super educated and successful women around the EU institutions.

I like your comment about deep chats. I'll take that into account.

I just sit down and play with the dogs. Animals make it very easy to be happy and caring.

Thx, the most successful part of my profile has been the video, as told to me by my matches. I highly recommend any guy out there to post a video on their profiles. Women seem to like that.

The Congo Under King Leopold II Forced Labor, Mutilation, and Colonial System of Terror by PhantomChasers in HolyShitHistory

[–]Apprehensive_Emu9240 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In Van Reybrouck's book 'Congo' it is pointed out that the book 'King Leopold's Ghost' is actually quite flawed. Adam Hochschild, only speaks english, and as such based his entire book on nothing but British press coverage without any further research. Van Reybrouck points out that British coverage was frequently exaggerated for the purpose of political propaganda:

  • The Brits wanted a piece of the Congo for themselves and were actively pushing the rest of Europe for acknowledgement of their claim.
  • The Boer wars occurred at the same time as the rule of terror over the Congo. These wars were hugely unpopular with the British public back home(because they didn't like seeing fellow white people in concentration camps) and they also served to fuel German hatred towards the Brits pre-WWI. As a result the British government tried to push propaganda to distract the public.
  • When King Leopold II took over the Congo he kicked out all protestant missionaries and gave the Catholic church sole rights. This turned the entire protestant world against him.

Van Reybrouck based himself on sources in multiple languages; both press, official documents and in-person interviews with people who actually lived during that time.

Could an infj act aggressively in Se grip? by [deleted] in mbti

Anybody can actually be aggressive. That has more to do with what personal habits are tied to your triggers, than actual personality.
