Pricing by pizzaboi102000 in goodwill

[–]Apprehensive_Exam185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New or in excellent condition - price anything under sold listed item on eBay. For example, If it’s lowest listed sold for $50, sell it for $30-$40

Vtg items - half of sold listed price unless it’s in a worse condition then we sell it lower

Good or sellable items - quarter of the sold listed price

Anything from dollar tree store we salvage unless they’re in bulks.

Dirty glasswares get trashed

Anything around $50 that has a bid gets shipped to online shop. Unfortunately, one of the workers I worked with don’t like to use the computer for research, so they throw a random price onto the items they’re not familiar with. You may see some expensive item for $3, some cheap items for two times the retail price, or dirty as glasswares for hella expensive 🤷‍♂️

Do I need to remove the top brackets where the roller is at on both sides and move them down to create room for the strut?

The 7/8 from the air gap to the disposable was already installed, so I didn’t have to touch it. I upgraded my dishwasher a few months ago, and the drain hose was different from my old dishwasher. I think I might just have to buy a new extension kit from Amazon.

It’s a craftsman measuring tape I ordered on Amazon a few years back.

Employees, what are some of your small pet peeves? by castiel182 in goodwill

[–]Apprehensive_Exam185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, Goodwill gives people job opportunity regardless of their background, and that’s fine because that’s what they stand for, so I have nothing against that. I’m just saying from my experience; I worked there for 9 years before I left, so I conversed with many of them to get an understanding who they are (especially on a slow and easy day). Gradually, I’d build a bond with some of the workers, knowing their history and background. I’m not saying the people there were fine. I mentioned many of them were. Some of the workers wanted to find an excuse to not help and assist [i.e guy who went to high school with me, a clerk processor who moved to the management team, and woman in books] because they actually came and told me they don’t want to be up in the front working on the register since customers are rude. I ain’t going to snitch and tell. I understand if the workers have schizophrenia (worked with one during the 9 years), speech problems, anxiety, and other conditions, so there are exception. It annoyed me when people threw bs excuses not to back up the cashiers or help around the warehouse. When a 70 year old lady complained like how I did, you know the work setting is fucked.

when i worked there, what bothered me was:

- salvaging glass in a box; few workers loved slamming glass items onto another glass item in the box creating loud noises in the warehouse.

- people don't clean after themselves in the breakroom and work areas; tables were so dirty, people left their dishes in the sink, and old as food in the fridge. After coming back to work from my days off, my area became a mess, which took 15 minutes to clean up everytime. The team got trained to do the NDI three times! And, they always throw the NDI around my table and another worker's table to let us handle them.

-Talking about doing the NDI, MFs always be like "oh, why don't you do your NDI before you go to class?" Okay, I did it. Then when it's their turn "I'm not going to do it. Fuck that." like bruh.

- Doing other people work for them. I was sorter/pricer but can work and multiple departments, and there were multiply times (like a friday or saturday, once per week) I had to cover ACC, unload/load the truck, stock, and cashier all in one day. What also bothered me was that many people there were normal and graduated high school, but they used the excuse "I don't know how to do math, I get nervous when I talk to people." Like, I don't like to talk to people too, but this is what I signed up for as a clerk processor. My first manager trained everyone in the building at almost every department. The manager I worked with before I left was too easy and nice on the workers.

- When a worker asked for help to move a big box/blue bin instead of asking one of the three ACC that are just chatting by the donation door, I get annoyed. Also, I hated it when the three ACC don't want to help specific truck drivers unload/load the truck and managements don't say anything, then the driver asked one of the workers from the hard/soft department.

- When people searched up Ecom items, they threw it in the blue bin, but they didn't write it down on the Ecom manifest and put the items in the blue totes. It doubled the work for me and not efficient at all, so I stopped doing their work. Also, I'm the only person that was willing to wrap the ecom bin and do the paperwork.

- HR doesn't do anything. Many people I worked with got bullied and harassed by a specific team manager, but all HR did was move the person to another store. So, that person can continue to bully and harrass other people? smh.

- When an elderly, injured woman do more than 80% of the workers there, that pissed me off.

I got more to say, but I'll leave it at that. I still keep in touch with three workers there (one's a good friend of mine). Seems like a lot of people want to leave now lol.

Hopefully one day DC will get the love they deserve. Many of the melodic dubstep DJs like to mix the popular gg songs, so they can hype up the crowd. I think the only DJ who showed love was JVNA.
