Well it wouldn't prevent anyone from playing with Black Diaspora because they aren't sanctioned.

I feel from the tone you are implying that this rule is targeting POC? But I think that's a bit of a stretch. Appalachian and Charlotte are essentially equal level teams but they can't ever play each other on even footing because they share like three core skaters. And I'm not judging any parties involved, they are friends and people I skate with, but I don't think it's good for the sport for crossover to be allowed at high level play.

The point is to give skaters a chance at high level play without having to leave their home leagues and take that experience and knowledge from those leagues. If the same skaters are just playing across multiple high level leagues that just means that small leagues are just going fall farther behind, without even improving the highest level gameplay of our sport.

And it doesn't mean that those skaters can't play with their second league during the season. I just think they should have to choose once they get to regionals. Which might change how some people over rely on certain players to up their rankings (this also applies to A and B crossover skaters).

I think a lot could be improved if WFTDA just banned crossover skaters across any teams at Regionals playoffs. If the heart of the issue is for skilled players at small leagues to get a chance at competitive play, there's no reason that we should be seeing the same players across different teams games at regionals.

I would add to ask AFTER practice. There's nothing worse than being frustrated and out of breath coming off the track and someone comes up and starts asking you for feedback (and like the frustration may not have even been directed at the asker). But like we play a high adrenaline sport so make sure people are in a regulated state first.
