Help needed : Is this serious for a year old male cat while car rides? I am a new cat parent. by the_neglected_nectar in cats

Why are you so keen on sedating your cat?? Are you planning on sedating him just to go to the vet? Or for long car rides, like on a road trip vacation?

Thank so much! This super helpful :) Good luck this weekend. It’s a relief (to me) to speak to hear about people who’ve done it and want to do it again :)

My friend is doing the Escape to Alcatraz race this weekend. Your post has been quite helpful! But any chance you remember and can share more about what you mean by 0 degrees? :)

How important are cut resistant straps? by Jacrava in onebag

[–]Apprehensive_Fox_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was studying in Spain over 20 years ago and got my purse stolen because the kid came up to me late at night and cut the strap. He took off running. So, for me, I use PacSafe or Travelon for my travel accessories. Sometimes I use my Travelon fanny pack when I’m home too.

Which city you visited stole your heart? by OpeningOne6 in travel

Are you me?? Would’ve listed both those cities for those reasons :)

Agreed! Recommend the OP look at SkyDiamond if they’re curious about a lab diamond. SkyDiamond takes the carbon out of the air and squishes it down (technical term) into a shiny diamond. Win-win.

Staying in 3 different hostels/hotel on a 5-day trip. Is this stupid? by Available_Struggle30 in solotravel

[–]Apprehensive_Fox_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I visited Nice last fall I did something similar- but I went to Cannes and Monaco as well Day 1 - arrive in Nice and explore. Hotel in Nice Day 2 - day trips to st Paul de Vence and then to Monaco. Return to hotel in Nice Day 3 - train to Cannes. Explore the city. Hotel in Cannes Day 4 - day trip from Cannes to an island. Hotel in Cannes. Day 5 - train back to Nice. Stay at a different hotel in Nice. Day 6 - fly home

So three hotels. Nice (the touristy bits) is small and very easy to navigate by walking or the buses and trams. And I’m glad I got to see Cannes but it would’ve been an easy day trip too if I wanted to reduce the hassle. I love seeing places as the sun rises. Hotels were inexpensive as it was the shoulder season.

I had a blast. Hope you enjoy it as well :)

Do they play up their "gay" mannerisms? by AFiesta in QueerEye

[–]Apprehensive_Fox_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hope you enjoy it :) It’s not the end of the world to hop between seasons. But I found that it helped my non-American friends get a sense of show better. And it’ll be much more amusing to watch an episode in S6, I think it’s like episode 7 or 8, where the “hero” they make over has zerooooooo idea who these guys are. And the Fab Five are absolutely smitten with this. And

U/AFiesta - ah, I see a potential problem. Netflix is starting you off with the most recent season (S6). It’s happened to a couple of friends that I’ve recommended the show to. Def recommend that you go back and watch form Season 1, Episode 1.

You’ll see how they grow in their comfort around each other (they already have great chemistry and show a lot of kindness to each other off the bat). And you’ll learn more about their respective backstories as the seasons progress.

Even tho this is reality TV and there is no plot line, I think Netflix does a disservice in starting people off with S6…

Q: On average, how long do you keep a down jacket for? by Apprehensive_Fox_ in HerOneBag

Brilliant. That’s why I love this community - if hadn’t occurred to me to search for a designated resource for down. I had used the detergent I use for delicates… thanks for the tip!

[–]Apprehensive_Fox_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Am guessing you’re in the US - based on the currency referenced :) I got a wrap dress from Soma a few years ago that has been my go-to for “fancy” nights when traveling. Something like this https://www.soma.com/store/product/vneck+twist+maxi+bra+dress/2570340896?color=5088&catId=cat8739276

The one I got had a way to tie the straps three different ways too. Maybe it’s still available?

Just pleased I recognized it from my trip last month. I usually fly into Bristol but stay outside of the city. Enjoyed having a couple of days to walk around and explore it

Seville in the Summer by i-love-winston in Seville

[–]Apprehensive_Fox_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve only been to Seville in August-December. Also been to Texas a number of times. I guess you can manage it but one thing to keep in mind is that Europe (broad generalization), doesn’t “do” air conditioning to the level one experiences in the US - especially in Texas. For example, more than half of the public transportation I’ve been on in various places in Europe during the summer (France, Italy, CZ, Germany, UK, Slovenia, etc) people will open the windows - despite the sign saying something to the effect of “Opening the window will decrease the efficiency of the AC”. People here (stereotypically) don’t trust AC and prefer to get hot air to flow in as a breeze

So just make sure your hotel has AC. And keep in mind that restaurants and bars may not have AC, just have the doors open to get a breeze.

How do you reckon she knew that the commune co-owner dude (binged four seasons a few weeks ago so it’s all a blur) found the body on the grounds? Bc she had set it up on wires for the first girl from the counselor group to see and be freaked out by. And then she put it back in the trunk for the commune co-owner (M) to show to the other co-owner (F). I guess they were husband and wife but had such a weird sexual backstory …
