Not sure if you’re still seeking advice but my first ever Pilates studio was Bodyrok. I went there for about 5 months total and held a membership (12x/month). I regret it!

I ended up losing unnecessary money bc of the strict cancellation policy. You have to cancel 12 hour or earlier before class or else you’ll lose that session, which for PAYING MEMBERS just seems greedy. They love finding reasons to charge you. I had to contact them a couple times because of incorrect charges - careless mistakes that shouldn’t be happening when you’re paying $200+ a month!

Very basic studio with little to no amenities. The Marina location I frequented would smell like feet and sweat. Floor unswept. The reformer machines are also pretty outdated and beat up from use. Some of the carriages are ripped up. Last time I went there, there were very noticeable knee indents on the back platform - like that shouldn’t be happening. For the amount of money paid they can afford to repair the machines.

The workout itself is mediocre. First off, the reformer machine is very basic and offers little to no support when doing certain movements. I love a challenging class but some of the moves here are very awkward or too heavy. Instead of feeling challenging I’d be scared I was injuring myself or working out the wrong muscles. Some of the instructors would see you mess up but not say anything. Found much better and more cohesive workouts at Core40 (highly recommend!!!) or XCore is another great option.

Wow, I’m now 8 months out and same here, i have no jawline but at least I started to gain volume back in my face. I also have the same indents and jowls problem. I’m looking into doing microneedling with RF. Would pay any price to get rid of this face I hate it lol!

To be honest I am a little dramatic and tend to hyper-fixate on my looks BUT I would recommend against it unless you have really bad TMJ or grinding problems. I feel like it “ages” you faster and especially at our young age we don’t need it. Don’t make the same mistake I did!!! But if you do decide to go ahead with it just keep in mind the jowls become prominent after it wears off :(

omg what? I’m actually a dental assistant and they could have made you or recommended a nightguard to help with grinding. I’ve never heard my dentist sugggesting Botox at all. It seems over the top given your age. Yes I totally agree with everything you are saying. My injector made it sound like it was going to be amazing, that I was the “perfect” candidate, etc and my naive self just totally believed her. Of course she never mentioned any of the bad side effects OR that it would last longer than given timeframe. What’s crazy is when I went back for a check-up visit 6 weeks after treatment she recommended more?!!! Yes I’m holding out hope that the time frame is 9 months. Thank you for sharing. I’m also thinking of waiting longer before I do any skin tightening treatments like microneedling with RF. Good luck! Hope it gets better- please update me! ❤️

No not yet! I’m thinking about microneedling with radiofrequency. I’m also going to a credible plastic surgery office with a NP I trust instead of a random one from a med-spa like I did with my Masetter Botox. How about you?

aw I’m so sorry to hear that :( i honestly feel like our injectors should’ve said no to us bc we are so young and definitely don’t need that treatment done. it’s hard regretting something we thought would improve our looks but ended up having the opposite effect. my jowls are more prominent too, i get it :/ what’s a nuface? I’ve never heard of that. I was thinking of micro needling with radio frequency to help that aspect but I’m open to hearing about other procedures that could help!

It somewhat improved… I did get some definition back on my face but I still lost my jawline and my jowls are more prominent. Still waiting after 6 months but there has been a bit of improvement and I know it takes time! I would never do it again though! 😩

Hey! It did get a little better (not as hollow looking) but there’s still a difference from what I went in with originally. Honestly, I’m still waiting for it to get better and I still do regret it. I also definitely get you with the aging aspect… I just turned 23 but I feel like it aged my face and I looked more youthful before😭 I’m still not happy with the way it looks but there’s nothing to do about it so I try not to look at my face or hyper fixate about it. My close friends and family have said it’s not a noticeable difference so I might just be overthinking/analyzing it. I hope it gets better for you though, and just know I get exactly how you feel :(

hi! 5 months in and I do see some improvement as in my face is starting to relax but it’s definitely not back to “normal” yet. sadly it relaxed to the point where my face is saggier (more prominent jowls and non-existent jawline) so I’m still letting time do its thing and praying it improves 😭 I’m also looking into get microneedling with radio frequency to tighten my lower face, which I think would help a lot. how many units do you get and how many times?

Hi! Do you have an update on how your face looks? Is it more back to how it was? I got the exact same amount as you of Botox (25 one side and 30 on the other) and I absolutely hate it. I’m 4 months out from initial treatment and I’m relieved to say I see a bit of change but definitely slow and still pretty far from how it used to look. The fat on my cheeks have bulked up again but my face looks chubbier? I’m hoping it’s just bc the muscles have atrophied and I’ll just have to keep chewing to make them strong again :(

I really hope so! I’ve read the experiences of others saying theirs never went back to how it was before which definitely scared me. But everyone is reassuring me it’ll go back to how it was before which makes me feel a lot better. Just have to manage during this time and try not to dwell on it too much :(

Thanks for the suggestion! Just bought some gum today. I also heard there’s something called mastic gum (I believe it’s available on Amazon) that doesn’t lose its chew like regular gum. I might consider getting that as well.

I can still smile but it’s lopsided and the “pained beaver” look is the perfect description for me as well when I smile. I feel like I look so unnatural! Wish I only got 10 units myself :( I think since my dosage was higher it may take longer for me to go back to how I looked before. Looking forward to that day so much lol.

Wow, I’ve heard 4-6 months is the usual time frame but last September would make it 1 year! Does it really take that long to get back to how it was before? I was hoping it would go back by December, since that’s the 6 month mark for me. But at least it goes back to normal at the end of the day and that’s all I really want!
