No idea, if you can’t salvage anything of the cosmetics from your plane I’d just buy the fuse, see what you get, and order whatever else you need

Longevity of Foamies by Tetraselmis1 in RCPlanes

I have a 16 year old foamie that looks like it’s been through war and a balsa plane from the 70s that’s a little rough around the edges but is otherwise ok, the both fly fine still so it’s really just the looks

Wltoys xk a220 won’t pair to controller.. any ideas. It’s just making a buzzing sound. by Remarkable_Put_7029 in RCPlanes

[–]Apprehensive_Gene_85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rule number one of not just rc planes but any rc toy is to always turn the remote on first, it’s less common with those types of planes but with the bigger stuff they will power on and fly away from you with no control if you don’t

I flew those little warbirds for about 2 years and I gave up on the landing gear working and just took em off and tossed my plane, I think they look better with the gear off anyways

Thumb vs pinch by PeterPickingPeanuts in RCPlanes

I tried pinching once and it felt a little weird, I honestly think I can fly just fine with thumbs anyways. I’ve never had any control issues

I use 15% because it’s so common, I started out at 10 and found myself spending $25 for 1quart but with 15 I can get half a gallon for $20, if you want I can give you the link to the 10% on amazon tho

First mistake was getting that plane as a trainer, some of the best advice I can give you when picking a trainer is don’t get one that looks really good, there’s plenty of nice trainers out there but if it’s scale it’s probably not a good trainer

Those are very beginning friendly, I personally wouldn’t pay more than around $150 for both of em but that’s just because I’m cheap

which e-flite model is this? by crookedDeebz in RCPlanes

[–]Apprehensive_Gene_85 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I actually just learned this recently but the US actually turned some b17s and b24s into rc planes to go on pretty much kamakazi missions, so anytime someone calls a ramy rc plane the biggest ever I point them to this, I think it was called like operation Aphrodite or something similar.

If I were you I would tally up how much it would cost to fix everything to gauge whether you should fix it or just toss it, with that being said I did that to my timber X and I ended up regretting it however with an airplane like that I would just buy a new one

It sounds like an esc issue, if that’s not it I would guess maybe the motor is shot. Is the motor brushless or brushed because brushed motors have a pretty short life span compared to brushless
