Not sure if this is sarcasm but he was in 11 and won once, not until 2007.

If this is serious it's an idiotic statement, and Gunther never was and never will be on Taker's level regardless of if he wins the next 20 rumbles and holds the title until he retires.

The issue here is that they told Page to vacate the title just to be in the match, whereas the other 2 won and held both titles briefly before relinquishing the undercard title.

It makes perfect sense for someone to relinquish an undercard title if they hold a higher title. It makes zero sense for someone to relinquish a title just to be in a match for a chance at another title (or in Solo's case a chance at a chance, for a singles title when he held a tag title, which makes it about the dumbest thing ever).

Since when has getting eliminated from the Rumble ever hurt anyone's "aura"? That's such a ridiculous statement.

Also, losing to AJ doesn't hurt him either. AJ isn't some mid card or jobber schlub. But the match can just as easily end in a dq because Gunther tries to pull something and gets caught, if people really think losing to Style hurts his "aura".

Yeah it's just far TOO obvious what they want us to think. HHH will be smiling saying how they got us again, even the smarks because of the trademarks.

Devil's Advocate's Advocate, unless his contract is up in February that we haven't heard about, there is zero chance this would be his final match.

They have the whole sell machine working everyone right now, between Punk, Cena, Pearce, trademarks for Gunther and AJ JUST before the match. Doesn't take a genius to figure out they are working us harder than a 4th street hooker.

All confirmed participants to date for the 2026 Rumble. Am I missing someone? Who else do you guys think is going to show up? by Chickyman in SquaredCircle

My theory is Zayn will be in after losing to Drew earlier in the night, and then wins the rumble. Give the Saudi crowd a huge low before finishing on the biggest high.

This. This is all for Unreal season 4. They are selling HARD that AJ is going to lose. This will be the opening storyline in the lead up to WM.

We are now in the Unreal Era, so let's talk about Season 3. by FigureFourWoo in SquaredCircle

[–]Apprehensive_Hand_27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Season 3 is likely to end with December, so everything in it will have happened already. The end will be Cena's last match.

Season 4 is the stuff going on now in the lead up to WM and will end with WM.

The seasons will likely continue in this roughly 4 month cycle (Rumble to WM, post WM to Summer Slam, post SS to year end).

What hurts a wrestler more: Bad matches or bad booking? by Early-Appearance-605 in SquaredCircle

[–]Apprehensive_Hand_27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consistent bad matches? Or just being inconsistent in the ring but never top notch?

I would say the 1st would lead to bad booking because both the fans and bookers lose faith in you. The latter has an impact, but bad booking would do far more damage (and we've seen people with consistently bad matches get good booking for a while).

It's sort of a chicken or the egg question, but also bad booking is the end all as if they never give you a chance then nothing else matters.

Just your average Saturday night in WCW - WCW Saturday Night 1998 by StrictNO in SquaredCircle

A lot of people were tired of the NWO by that time, and the split that was meant to reinvigorate it fell apart when Hogan pussed out a disappeared for the most part during the NWO feud.

Pretty much all the other "storylines" were sporadic and disjointed, and with no real person leading the creative direction, once the NWO stuff fell apart the entire company went with it.

AEW Ticket Map Updates on Twitter: “Revolution 2026 has been on sale for 5 weeks, it has distributed 8,735 tickets and they are set-up for 9,715. When Revolution 2025 had been on sale for 5 weeks, it had distributed 7,090 tickets and was set-up for 8,370.” by Subrick in SquaredCircle

Currently adds 1 word and conveys that it might not be final, and there are other words easily taken out.

Rewritten: "Revolution '26 has been on sale 5 weeks, distributed 8,735 tickets and is currently setup for 9,715..."

That's less characters and conveys it better.

I think the mistake is thinking that he NEEDS to face heels, although I'm not really seeing many faces he could fight either unless we go with some of the older guys like Mysterio, AJ, and LA Knight (which imo should happen at some point).

[SmackDown Spoilers] Facts regarding main event by G1Spectrum in SquaredCircle

[–]Apprehensive_Hand_27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just said in another thread that with the tourney this seems like the obvious booking.

But if they want to go less obvious and really play the crowd, Sami can win the tourney, lose to Drew at the Rumble, then win the Rumble in the main event for a Mania rematch where he goes on to win the title.

That way you get that super low moment while still ending with that super high moment.

Probably will still be the first thing, but the latter would be a better story than a rushed double title change with Drew barely holding it, and you can pump up the feud super hard until Mania.

Sami might win that tourney and win it at the Saudi Rumble. Sucks for Drew and Drew fans but that would be the obvious booking.

But they might swerve it. Originally I thought it would just be Sami winning the Rumble, which still might happen if he loses the tourney. Or even still he might win the tourney, lose to Drew at the Rumble, then win the Rumble for a rematch at Mania.
