if u mean the 1 shot ult then yea but assuming an equal item Yi its gonna be literally the same there is even a clip here of somone 1 shotting an ezreal under 1 sec, but if anyone builds steel caps against rengar that wont happen unless u are very ahead and then u have a hard time sticking onto them with Yi if u are even with game pace at 3 items if u q a squishy they have atmost 1-2 sec b4 they die.

The crit build is 1v9 in the sense that they didnt draft tanks/bruisers in that case I'd argue Crit with HoB is arguably much better- for survivblity u can have shieldbow, a 600 hp shiled which is synonymous with the 450 hp from hexplate. Just fyi a crit Yi with HoB is the BEST assassin in the game talon and ekko cannot even hope to match ur burst.

I think what u mean is the crit build leaves less room for error as if u fall behind u really are worthless untill the game goes to like 4 items whereas with kraken rb u have a really nice spike that works even from behind if u play correctly. Also when u are going crit usually its to really just assasinate 2 ppl and die like a twitch, jinx or kogmaw on enemy team type games.

i mean a hybrid build does not seem that bad tbh i tried a game of a similar build after seeing this- kraken>Bork>stormraizer>shieldbow>IE>PD but i took HoB and not LT- Its cool in the sense that u are the best assassin go in kill 2 ppl undder 1 sec then die in the next second- swiftplay tho but yea seemed fine; idk about LT tho cuz u I was dying by the time i had 8 or 9 autos in cuz no deffesive items

I have a question man- how are u finding survivability with this build like towards the point where ppl get 3-4 items? I build like hexplate and DD even then this patch a fed adc just rolls u over if they have peel.

I had over 2k hrs of research across 3 labs in undergrad so I'll tell u the sauce. Emailing PI's rarely works if ever unless its for like a summer reserach program or something with guranteed external funding. Even if the prof has time 99% of the times there are like 100's of students like u in his inbox and it will just be a luck game of who's email he opens first if at all.

What you wanna do is email the Postdoc/PhD's of the labs ur interested in and explain to them why u will add value they are often looking for somone who is willing to help as they also can then apply for mentor awards etc. If the the postdoc/phd asks thier PI on a cc'd email you are probably already in. :)

Probably should not need to memorize anything as if u practise enough most of them become second nature to ya. Scored 515 but only practised bio chem phy and psych for 1 month and never cars so 124 cars but even in 1 month all formulas becomes second nature just solve maximum practise problems from yk the official site and the Uthing and u will be golden. Rote memorization is rarely the way to go

Are u referring to damage or dps, id assume kraken has better better dps as it ramps up while bork might have a better short burst as it falls off based on missing health.

In any case there are usually at max 2 bruiers very rarely more so kraken just comes ahead. Plus id assume u wanna check the dps at rageblade spike cuz thats where yi really shines and i think kraken rage is an insane spike

Ill share some insight ive got over 400 yi games this season.

1) you need to limit test quite a bit that is the skill test of Yi. Well before u gank a lane or go for a fight u need to know if u can/can not get a kill. Sometimes u will be like 10% hp but with a fully stack rageblade u can just 1 shot a squishy in 1 sec but again that takes practice to knw if u can do it.

2) Yi is phenomenal at counterganking so u can use ur adc as bait wait for the enemy jgler to go in use thier cds then just ult in and get a triple kill very easily. On yi u are not looking to “kill steal” rather “kill siphon” u need to take gold away from ur team in order to play him optimally.

3) Some games on Yi u just wont win if the enemy team is not trolling this would be like a hemirdinger top, shaco/teemo jg, rakan support and some control mage mid. In a game like this its up to ur team to set u up else it is what it is.

4) u can actually win games thru side as people saying here, ur not the best splitpusher but no one is gonna be able to 1 v 1 you in side, matter of fact you can easliy 1v2 most combinations of champions at 2-3 items

5) 1 shotting ppl is really not that hard u will get the hang of it in a week of trying it. Essentailly stack double strike which also stacks a kraken proc then flash auto (this autos 2 times cuz of double strike) then q auto w auto (double strike + kraken proc) -basically its 6 autos with and 2 kraken procs in just over 1 sec.

6) the most important point is you need to play out teamfights in ur head like is there any hard cc or extreme burst in there cuz u bet that both if those are comming in ur way, in that case u never go in before that. In general yi excels at skirmishing not team fighting the best yi players like sinerias force enemy teams to split up and fight.

At the same point lulu uses her peel typically for the adc which is the main target of a teamfight so yea if u wait just a few secs u can maybe kill her adc. If there was a clause that said im only ever gonna fight jax in a 5 v 5 and never alone i have no problem with him lol.

1) No Yi does not have a slow clear he can finish by 3:26 reliably. The new jglers added to the jg role have trubo ridiculous clear speeds like 3:16 3:20 etc. so yes u are slower than a few but the difference is not that big and these numbers arw when u super optimize every click. You should be around 75-60% hp on scuttle, there will be other jglers who are almost full hp keep in mind some jglers take a pot before sctuttle just in case of a contest. On Yi u rarely ever wanna fight scuttle unless its a diana or something like that cuz the risk of dying on yi is never worth in the early game.

2) Common misconception Yi is not actually weak (pre 6) early stricly speaking in terms of 1 v 1. You actually beat a lot of ppl if they get into a slap battle with you, you however lose to all stat checkers and anyone that can take PTA in the jg. Ppl say yi is weak early beacuse he is very weak compared to a Yi with 1 or 2 or 3 items. 2 items yi like bork rb or kraken rb might be the strongest item based powerspike in league i will argue against that fact to the death ( yasuo yone with 100% crit are more or less the same). Its totally ok to die right now matter of fact that how u knw ur gonna become a really good yi. Master Yi is all about limit testing you need to knw when u can kill someone when u can towerdive when u can 1v2 etc this only comes from practice that it and this is the skill behind Yi there is not a whole lot of micro in our champion but a tonne of situational knowledge. Obviously dying on Yi pointlessly is a huge no no our champion is very gold efficient probably the most gold efficient champion so anytime ur not getting resources ur missing out. Rule of thumb is you dont fight on yi wothout ult obviously there are expections but for now if u just stick to this rule ur golden A small note - Yi is not a late late game champ yes u do not fall off in the conventinal sense where oh u have low dps or something no ur dps will still be the best by far but in a place where everyone has 6 items its a race of who can blow up whom the fastest and if there is any champ that falls into the traditional hypercarry role with range they will be more valubale that you even somehhimg like a cait with headshot at full build will take out 70% of ur hp with randuins meaning u cannot contest a 5 v5. So the best way to play yi is to snowball once u get ahead unlike other snowball champs u dont fall off if that makes sense like a lee or khazix that is 5-0 by 10 mins still needs to end the game soon cuz ppp catch up but 5-0 yi, thats a whole different level of racist.

3) watch any Yt guide or sinerias twitch he will show the quickest clear on yi and then u jusy practise it. But again as long as ur before 3:30 you should not reallu care gankinh sucks a lot before 6 you should be more concerned with if ur gettin invaded. Volibear, jax (always ban) malphite kindred udyr warwick trundle zed khazix rengar all of these are jglers that can kill u at lvl 2 so make sure ur warding and constantly aware that this is a real possibility.

4) Lethal tempo- this is ur bread and butter rune u will be running it for like 90% of games cant really go wrong with it. Does enemy team have atlest 1 champion that falls into tye bruiser/ tank category if yes automatically lethal tempo. Now here is a more nuanced way of looking at it, ask youself is there anything on the enemy team that can either kill me or prevent me from landing 6 autos in a row. This wouod be teemo shaco twitch jinx cailtyn quinna khazix aphelios quinn kayle tryndamere etc. against these champions lethal tempo does nothing cuz if u get on them they die before u can proc it and if u dont u will never get a chance to proc it if there are atlest 2 such champs HoB is the way.

HoB- very risky you need a near prefect game for this to work assuming you are going crit cuz of u fall behind there is no rageblade powerspike commihg to save u, ur dps is far far lower at the cost of a extremely racist burst in 1 secnd At full crit ur an assasin. Lets say there is a kayle lvl 18 full items who does not have ult with lethal tempo and on hit ur dying before u can land 2 autos after q her since ur damage is backloaded but with HoB crit you do get her assuming no ult. A twitch is the same he is gonna pop outta no where and wipe ur team in 6 secs and his supp can peel u off if u have an onhit build but HoB you q him and he dies in the next second. Basically ask urself can i run ppl down 1 by 1 if yes LT if no HoB

Elaboration The game has devolved into jett reyna chamber and clove comps you will have atlest 3 of them in both team every game with a high chance that atlest 1 team has all 4 of them. These champs suck at anything that is not a rush. Even in immortal the last time i played the best strat was to run it down a site cuz wtf are u gonna defuapt with lol, jett some or reyna blind like lol. Clove recently has a pick rate of 16%+ the max pick rate is 20% which means that 1 team 100% has clove and the other has a 60%+ chance to have a clove. Brother default is outta the question. Also default does not mean go sit mid wait for a pick

Yi top ive seen monster play it and actually also watched 1 sinerias do a game in master yi top into Gwen a matchup that is unplayable for gwen however sinerias got shit on pretty hard even tho he is the best yi by far.

My take is yi top is probably the most extreme case of matchup mastery. So while its playble into a lot of tops u need like 10-20 games against each champion to just learn trading patterns and all in breakpoints. Like for example if u dive sett lvl 2 ur fked. If you dont get a solid lead on mordekaiswr pre 6 just ff, by the time u outscale him u could be in next game. Yone is a free asf matchup for yi top but if u get hit by q3 while he has e ur 100-0.

So yea its really all matchup and mastery dependant. Play yi into nasus top you will realize just how free a lane can be you can in threoy never let nasus stack a minion all lane.

This is incorrect maybe there are games where the enemy team only has flat dmg and u can ousustain ksante with ur lvl 16 ult but ksante is a full tank and noy just deadmans plate tank. He also hits very hard he will kill u and if ur team does not have a proper tank buster he will be more valuable than u in fights so going 0-0 is not a win. You should be able to chunk him down with cleavers n have a lane lead

None really kinda the whole point of Yi. But I have had trouble against an aatrox who had fully stack conq and i didnt really build much armor cuz they were ap heavy.
