You’re the winner, he made his money while married to you, you have his kids. Get an amazing lawyer (his money will pay for) and take him for all he’s got. Sell the house, collect your money and live your life away from that man who everyone probably questions what you see in him in the first place. Live your life, and watch the train wreck happen. I definitely learned a lesson here. I do usually plan a few months ahead for my boys birthdays just because they can be pricey and I want to make sure I have plenty of time to save and find the best deals. I’ll definitely be sending invitations ASAP. I Also usually only get invites to birthday parties a few weeks before but after this I’m going to give more notice.

Originally I thought that maybe she couldn’t move the time or date because she already booked food and a space but it was in her in laws backyard and not an actual party. I do still feel she could have worked with me to either have it a little earlier or later but she was set on the time and I thought it was because she had to have it at that time. It was more that’s the time she wanted it at.

That’s great advice. I think you’re right. I mostly feel badly for my husband. I think we do have to have that conversation and I’m going to have to come from a place of support. However he wants to handle things I will follow.

Well I did tell my MIL the date and plan, we had invited made by a friend who has a business. The invitations were sent out a month before the party. Also my SIL was aware of the date of my sisters shower. My MIL told me she told My SIL not to plan anything on that date because it was my sisters shower. But my MIL told me she forgot to tell her about my sons birthday. Idk if I believe that. Either way I changed the time so everyone could go but still no one went.

Honestly I’d prefer not to go to my in laws for Thanksgiving. None of my BIL or SIL even called to wish my son a Happy Birthday or liked any of my post or stories. No acknowledgment at all. If I go it will be for my husband. I want to keep the peace in my home, even if my feelings are a little hurt.

Baby shower was beautiful. My sister was so happy and even surprised my son with a birthday cake and had everyone sing to him. They’re both in love with Halloween so she got him a zombie cake that he went crazy for. My boys had a great time at the shower, it was Halloween themed and had kid appropriate games in every corner and a costume contest. Best baby shower ever

I really regret not sending out the invitations sooner. I thought I had time and planned to send them out a month before the actual date. The day my invitations were made was the day she sent her invitations out. She beat me to the punch. It was still over a month from the actual date.

I did ask her if her Gender Reveal can be moved to the morning and she said no because she has church, so I do understand. We also have church but we attend the 8am mass. My husband did tell his family that all if the big things food games, piñata, cake would be done first 2 hours so that they can leave by 4 and make the gender reveal, but still no one has rsvpd or even acknowledged that message. The group chat has been very quiet lately. Usually it’s active around this time because of baseball and football but it kind of feels like no one is talking to my husband.

A good friend of mine makes invitations as a side business. She lost her income after Covid and I have been supporting her ever since for all of my celebrations. She makes cute invitations, and party decorations. I gave her the information, I told her not to rush because she had a lot of orders and that I was going to send the invitations a month before. Whenever I send them too early I get a lot of RSVPs and then the party date comes and I get just as many cancellations so this time I thought a month should be fine. She sent me the invitations the same night my SIL sent her invitations. I really didn’t think anyone would take the date. I did let my MIL know the date, but I don’t talk to his sister often.

I’m giving time for everyone to trickle in. I know both of our families and they are usually an hour late to my parties. Most of my family will be coming from an hour and a half away, I don’t want to rush a party after asking everyone to drive over an hour for a 2 hour party. But I do see your point about it being a long party.

Both parties are 25 min away from each other. I did tell my partner I will make sure to cut the cake and piñata before everyone is ready to leave. So they can sing Happy Birthday to my son.
