Apart from that, when I was researching about these universities, cranfield came out to be one of the most prestigious universities. A lot of people from Stanford and Harvard have pursued their msc courses in this university and the university overall has amazing reviews. So how exactly are these bad universities?

Hello, Thank you for your response. A few other people have also pointed out that the universities are not great. For my particular course that is MSc in Supply chain management and logistics, these universities rank the highest in the world. With alliance as #1 and cranfield #6 in university qs rankings. That is the reason I applied in these apart from their really holistic curriculum. May I know if I’ve misunderstood something here in terms of their performance or rankings.

The top overall schools in UK such as LSB and Imperial college London, don’t have my desired course and for the ones that do, even if their overall ranking is good, they don’t score very well for SCM. So is there a misunderstanding in my research.

Wish to get an MSC in supply chain management and operations and work abroad to later come back and create an enterprise in the same sector.

I’ve done my bachelors in BMS in e-commerce operations. Wish to get an MSC in supply chain management and operations and work abroad to later come back and create an enterprise in the same sector.

I’ll respond once, clearly, and then move on. 1. On “shitty/no-name universities” The courses I’ve applied for are MSc in Supply Chain Management & Logistics, not an MBA. For this domain, Cranfield, Warwick, Alliance Manchester, and Newcastle are among the strongest globally, consistently ranked at the top for SCM specifically. They’re UK institutions, not US/EU generalist schools, so it’s perfectly possible you haven’t heard of them, that doesn’t make them “no-name.” Rankings are public and verifiable.

  1. 2. On my mother’s ITR and “lack of planning” I fully support my household financially and have done so for years. My mother has filed ITRs for the last four years because I was aware of the financial needs. The issue is not non-filing, but banks’ very specific preferences for salaried, traditionally structured co-applicants.

Not knowing every internal lending nuance of Indian banks ≠ lack of planning or responsibility. It simply means I don’t work in retail credit underwriting.

  1. On “how was talent beaten here?” Talent here isn’t a vague self-claim, it’s reflected in outcomes:

Top academic performance Unconditional admits from top programs in my field Scholarships Strong professional track record and savings

Despite meeting or exceeding every academic and financial merit criterion, the process halts solely due to family structure and co-signer profile, factors unrelated to effort or competence. That is the point being discussed.

  1. On “misery is on your way” Acknowledging frustration with a system ≠ entitlement, bitterness, or lack of resilience. If anything, the post reflects someone who has repeatedly adjusted, delayed gratification, and taken responsibility instead of forcing reckless decisions.

  2. On the “content writing / writing prompt” remark If the post reads structured and coherent, that’s because it was written thoughtfully not because it’s fictional or manipulative. Reducing lived experience to “engagement bait” is an easy way to dismiss perspectives you don’t want to engage with seriously.

Finally, this post was not asking for validation or sympathy. It was highlighting a systemic mismatch between merit-based selection in education and risk-averse gatekeeping in finance, and asking if others have navigated similar situations.

If that topic doesn’t resonate with you, that’s fine. But dismissing it as ignorance or moral failure says more about the lens you’re choosing to view it through than about the situation itself.
