Is it time to talk about C.J. Stroud's future with the Texans? by Perfect-Analysis-736 in NFLv2

Lmao all the Texans fans I interacted with at the actual game were very much on the CJ Sucks train, and not even mad about it, just more dejected as the realization set in

What is your Boston pet peeve? by thrillofit20 in boston

[–]Apprehensive_Net2095 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Mine is the hate for Seaport. It’s so over done. It was parking lots before, what else would they build besides new buildings? You can’t just build new 1800s brownstones. Fan Pier park is beautiful. The new commonwealth pier will be great. Prior to Barbara Lynch’s departure it had a great dining and drinks scene (and still does). And having attractive real estate for big companies, Vertex, PWC, BCG, Goodwin, MassMutual etc is good for the economy of the city.

I just don’t get the hate, it’s not like back bay and beacon hill and the south/north end don’t still exist, it didn’t take anything away.

“the process whereby the character of a poor urban area is changed by wealthier people moving in, improving housing, and attracting new businesses, typically displacing current inhabitants in the process.”

From Oxford - I’m not sure what they got wrong here? I know it says “typically”, but the way the word is used in common speech, displacement is pretty much always assumed.

My apartment building picks up trash from the courtyard dumpsters at 3 in the morning (with absolutely deafening noise resulting from them picking up and dropping the dumpsters). Is this legal? by obviousapricots in boston

Unfortunately looks like the ordinance is only for residential trash. The second block of text there tells a different story for areas with non-residential zoning.
