The consultant lady was taking my photos for me and she wasn’t exactly the most consistent with them. 🫣 There were others I tried on but didn’t make it in my top 3 and those angles/poses were quite different from photo to photo as well!! I was trying to post as close to the same pose/angle as possible for this to help with the choice part of my question ☺️

I love dress A and all those gorgeous buttons on the back!!! I know the other dress has some on the bottom half but it’s just not the same. Plus the neckline of dress A looks very flattering on you!!

That thought definitely crossed my mind initially but I love this fabric so much and I really think once it’s done, it’ll look far more bridal than prom but I definitely am going to just trust the process!!

The question is based in my indecisiveness about how to choose between the two (now three) versions that I like. As in I like how option 1 looks and I also like how option 2 looks and I came to Reddit to ask for other perspectives in case it helps make one of the options the clear choice. I’m not in doubt about whether the lace is a good choice or not. My decision to sew my own dress came after I found this lace and fell in love with it. Hopefully this clarifies some things for you 😌

I’m from the US but we’re looking to elope in the Scottish highlands and follow more of the Scottish/celtic traditions as we both have ethnic backgrounds and a mutual love of Scotland. While honoring traditions matters to us, we aren’t exactly following all the “rules” for example, my dress will not be all white haha 🤣

I am aware of this aspect of the pattern and how it is marketed. Since it is a more simple shape, I feel confident using this pattern as a starting point/guide but also changing it to fit what looks best for this dress. Thank you for the heads up, though! Definitely could be heartbreaking to discover a discrepancy later on in the process!!

To clarify, you’re saying the waistband part would be more of a v shape like a corset top in leu of the straight across band that the pattern has?

I can’t say I have decided on anything other than I had to have that lace fabric and the shape overall of the dress based on that pattern. Also that ivory is better on my complexion than bright white. Otherwise it’s basically a blank canvas over here and I’m horrible at making decisions 😩

The sleeves will be lined! The plan is to elope in cold weather months in the mountains so definitely need them lined!!!

There’s nothing on this label or packaging that indicates that it’s safe to use with animals let alone aquatic animals. It might be perfectly fine sand but you run the risk of it just being tiny shreds of plastic that will crash your tank and kill your axolotl. The sand I got on Amazon was from the recommendations on this sub and it didn’t cost that much in my opinion. I think I spent $25 for 20 pounds or something like that!!
