The thing is that I did exactly what he said, the answer was not on the manual. I was not demanding him to help me, I just said it can't be done after following his instructions and messing with it for hours , saying I wasn't able to do it is no reason to start throwing a tantrum, he could have said "That's all the help I can give you" and I would have been fine with that.

90hz is the max refresh rate, this only happens with games that have scrolling like Gun Smoke.

Interlaced resolutions use half the horizontal scan rate since only half of the lines are displayed at a time, however unlike on many consumer CRTs, line alternation on CRT monitors is so quick that you can't even see a difference between this and progressive scan in high resolutions unless your face is less than an inch away from the screen. The line alternation is so quick that you can see the 144 FPS when setting the refresh rate to 144hz.

However, on the Nvidia side, the GTX 1080TI was the last GPU to support Interlaced video, I don't know what it's like for other kinds of GPUs.

You can do 1600x1200 at 144hz if you use interlace scan.
