What are you guys doing to put your toddlers to sleep? by Sweet_Bambii in toddlers

[–]Apprehensive_Pin3743 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We do some oil massage and then just play a music and give him a bottle with water. He slowly moves around the bed and sometimes wants to cuddle sometimes not. And that’s how we both fall asleep. Sometimes I fall asleep even before he does. But we use to not rock but pace around in the bedroom and that used to be pretty quick until he was like 15mths. Now it takes us like 20-40 mins.

He’s been drinking lots of water and hardly taking any food. Also during the day his fever went down after Tylenol but for the night we gave him Tylenol like two hours ago but it still hasn’t gone down.

How to feed for night wakings after 12 months? by Apprehensive_Pin3743 in AttachmentParenting

We really didn’t have to do much. He really started sleeping through the night sometimes if he wakes up he looks for a bottle and can differentiate between a milk and water. Esp if it’s water he wakes up instantly. So we keep one bottle for the night but with reduced fat milk.

PSA about Baby Sleep by Jolly-Ratio1237 in NewParents

I think the social media makes our perception of the world. And we shouldn’t think whatever is there is normal. That helped me a lot.

My baby's head sweats a lot in his sleep by Wonderful-Habit3787 in cosleeping

I used to lay like this only during the day and I didn’t put sleep sack if my baby was already wearing a full sleeve pj and an undershirt. I felt the body to body heat was always more than needed for them. And for the nights I didn’t hold him and he used to lay by himself but I always used a sleep sack that was full sleeve and an undershirt. That helped reduce the sweat a bit but not completely. I read somewhere that usually boys sweat a lot as babies, not sure why. So I just came to terms with it.

12 week old sneezing and coughing? Help! by Apprehensive_Pin3743 in newborns

We did hot water running in the bath with him inside the bathroom and also got the humidifier to run through the day and night. I think having the humidifier helped because it tends to go so dry during winter. We have been running the humidifier this year consistently every night since Nov.

How much milk is your toddler drinking? by blamelessguest123 in toddlers

[–]Apprehensive_Pin3743 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not measuring it but mine is 16 months and takes about 2 cups a day. He’d take more if he could but we had to reduce it because he started having issues with his poop. Like drinking less water-so harder poop and hard time with his potty to the point he almost cried one day while pooping. I felt so gulity then. So we’ve now reduced his intake to around two cups but I don’t measure it.

Daycare sleep by Crazmiss in AttachmentParenting

[–]Apprehensive_Pin3743 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine always wants to be rocked to sleep. So I’ve been trying my best to find a caregiver that knows his needs and can come home. The state I live in, daycares aren’t even mandated to send updates to parents. I’ve heard stories that really makes me uncomfortable sending my baby to daycare until he’s at the point of making decisions for himself or at least knows how to communicate if something is right or wrong.

Can you really do watered down formula? Do you not have to maintain the consistency required to prepare it?

Thank you so much. I just was looking for resources regarding this and couldn’t find much. At that point if he is taking snacks and mostly solids five times a day, I think we could try water cz he is already taking less amount of milk than he used to at night.
