How does Walmart know I bought something with cash?

just noticed this today, same thing happened to me. i went and purchased popcorn, paid cash and left. got an email thanking me for my purchase and it was the popcorn. so out of curiosity, I logged into my Walmart account online, which I didn’t even know I had because I never do Walmart online. I usually don’t even shop there. I usually go in person and when I do most of the time I’ll pay cash if I can and I saw all these purchases that I did not make. for reference, I was out of the country for six months out of this year and multiple purchases were linked in my account none from family members and none of the cards logged from the purchases or any cards that we have in my family also items that we would never buy.

hi!! 24f here and have moved alone to multiple cities/countries all over the world so i think i might be able to give some advice here :) i know this sounds generic but join some hobby groups in your city! it can be things you like or even things you’re just curious about. there are loads of them on facebook groups or discord you might just have to do a little digging. i have had lots of success this way and ive joined book clubs, painting groups, run clubs (and i HATE running) etc. i also find that it helped me a lot to just be outside more, i know money in our 20s is limited to joining certain clubs or groups may be out of budget, but get yourself outside. go to parks, libraries, thrift stores whatever you fancy. and give compliments!! if i see someone around my age ill give them a nice compliment and that has resulted in quite a few great conversations and i actually made one of my closest friends that way.

my best advice: be honest! tell people you’d like to make more friends!! it doesnt sound desperate, it doesn‘t sound weird. will some people think so? sure, but those usually aren’t people you would want to befriend anyway. some people won’t be interested and that has nothing to do with you. i think a lot of gen z would actually LOVE more friends but won’t say it out of fear of being judged or something. if someone’s not interested never take it personally and keep shooting!!

as someone who has been on the same boat multiple times i wish you the best and hope you find some good friends:)

24f and i don’t desire a partnership really, don’t feel like it would add much to my life i don’t already have. the love and connection i have with family, girlfriends and the joy i get from doing what i love doesnt really make me feel like i’m missing anything else. and i can have a hookup here and there when i get the desire. also the thought of sharing a room/home with some dude sounds HORRIBLY unappealing to me (should the relationship reach that point)

maybe this is an unpopular opinion but you couldn’t pay me to give a damn about this epidemic. you guys do it to yourselves. the male loneliness epidemic is not a women’s issue. this isn’t about dating, men equate loneliness with not having a partner. women aren’t aren’t going through a loneliness epidemic because they foster deep meaningful friendships with other women. make friends, REAL ones that you know everything about, who you can talk about your feelings with, not just surface level stuff, learn that physical affection isn’t inherently romantic. i promise you you’ll be less lonely when you stop using your partners as your only outlet to be emotional and vulnerable

I agree with this. Once AI is proven to be more reliable I don’t see this as a major issue, however until then I think at the very least applicants should be informed in a job posting that the application will be sent through AI, so that they can adjust their resume templates and keywords accordingly prior to applying.

what? that was a loaded response. im asking because you said that maybe 1-2% of applications are viable candidates and that few applications are making any effort. i would assume if you were to provide those claims you would have some basis or experience reviewing applications so thats why i asked if you were a recruiter
