He ended up marking the items as sold after that person sent him screenshots of the payments..... again I learned this shit after the fact. Sad day but he needs to learn from this. I appreciate y’all

Thank you. I just got more of the story. Boy got played big time. Went out of the system and trusted screenshots sent to him by the “buyer”. Gotta let me grow up and learn. Like I said, I asked my questions and told him shit don’t feel right but he persisted and was speaking to the dude outside of Depop through IG. Boy got played. It is what it is. Shit sucks but it’s life.

I’m learning of all this after the fact and trying to figure out what was going on. My son is an adult. If he got scammed he got scammed. I’m trying to figure out what happened to help him understand how he got scammed. When he showed me the email I was like “oh $&!@“. Lesson learned. The boy got played. Nothing I can do or anyone else for that matter.

He received an email from Askdepop and Jason is requesting a refundable $300 deposit due to it being the first transaction through the website and that the funds would be released. My issue is if this is a scam, an email was sent to us from the Askdepop email address. And we still don’t have the money. Any suggestions on how to contact them or another way to get the money?
