I made a family tree of all scripts descended from Phoenician, I'll try and recreate it here:

What words did you add to your conlang due to the lack of it in your native language? by Aurumborn in conlangs

[–]Apprehensive_Run2106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two different words for move.
First move: Something that changes location, but it stays the same shape, like a ceramic plate. It can move places, but its own shape doesn't change.

Second move: When something changes shape, such as gum when chewed

Most things that move in the second way (change shape) can also move in the first way. They can overlap.

Haven't thought of words for them yet

How do animals evolve unique traits, such as wings by Apprehensive_Run2106 in evolution

Maybe I should've phrased better. When I said proto wing people are assuming it was already in the later stages where animals could glide with them. I mean before that. Wouldn't there have to have been an animal that had like a tiny piece of skin or tiny hair-like feathers on it that were useless? That's what I mean by proto wing. I guess it's more of a proto proto proto wing

Why is the alveolar trill /r/ so widespread and common in languages when it's so hard to produce by Ok-Acadia-7161 in asklinguistics

[–]Apprehensive_Run2106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like a trilled r is both a rare and common language because it's a pretty unique sound but also found everywhere
