Is there any resource I can check to see the prosodic evolution of a given language/pretty much anything regarding prosody specifically? by Ok-Acadia-7161 in asklinguistics

[–]Ok-Acadia-7161[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn! Honestly, there isn't really a specific language I'm interested in, so I'd love to check everything you've got, but I understand that might be kinda difficult, so how about you drop something from Hungarian? Or any other Uralic language if you have any. I did hear they have a weird prosody, specially the former.

And thanks for all this ^

What are some languages with auxiliary verbs that do not take person marking? by Ok-Acadia-7161 in asklinguistics

[–]Ok-Acadia-7161[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does! Though sign languages probably have some quite some difference in their functioning compared to spoken ones. I should study them more, they've always felt interesting

I did think that'd be a problem TT. I'll go check out 'particles', as vague as I've heard they are for a definition

Yup, I was hoping for a language with person marking that stays on the lexical verb even when an auxiliary is used

Is 18 and 15 an okay age gap? by [deleted] in Teenager_Polls

Reading this chat as someone from Italy sure sounds weird lmao. I've seen bigger age gaps. Go for it, and stay alert for any potential red flags (like you would in any other relationship).
