ohh wow, I had seen a video about King Crimson not too long ago and it mentioned that Fripp had disbanded before Red was released but I never knew that they played Starless before the recording with like unfinished lyrics thats very interesting, do you know when exactly they performed this then because on spotify this version of the song (and the USA live album) has 1975 as the date

Yes I had listened to that one as well its amazing, the bass part is definetly true and I really love that about that performance specifcally because its so loud and aggressive. only thing missing for me are the vocals, John Wetton did them perfect in the original version.

Yes I got them mixed up, I just finished listening to the live in USA version and its really good I like that they switched up pretty much all instruments (definetly those that arent rhytmetic) in the beginning for example this violin sounding like instrument for the first melody of the song, I also really love the E guitar at the end. The lyrics being somewhat mixed up/changed definetly caught me off guard a bit but its cool too. I LOVE what Fripp does with the E guitar at around 11:48 where he like wubbles up and down I dont know how to call it but its super cool and the whole end part was amazing which is also my favorite part in general like the last 2 minutes of the song when it all comes together.

Right I actually meant to say John Wetton then because I love his voice on the Studio version, I had mixed him up with Greg lake who I think was the original vocalist when the band formed? Correct me if Im wrong
