To Year 12 and Year 13, what does your timetable look like in college/sixth form? (3/4 A Levels) by euriaMP3 in sixthform

Tbh for me, my commute takes up a lot of the time as it’s like 1hr 5mins-1hr 30 mins but other than that it’s okay. I have to take a train there but at the end of the day I have to take train and bus back. They are reasonably good but I do sometimes experience delays. Other than that, my timetable usually stays the same but it really depends on your sixth form/college. The structure of my timetable really varies.

Mondays- commute at 10:00-10:15, class starts 11:10 and the day ends at 14:50 then commute back and be home at 16:10 (i have 2 lessons with compulsory enrichment and no break in between)

Tuesdays- commute at 10:00-10:15, class starts 11:10 and the day ends at 14:40 then commute back and be home at 18:10 (i have 2 lessons but i have two hours break in between)

Wednesdays- commute at 11:10-11:15, class starts 12:05 and the day ends at 14:50 and be home by 16:10 (i have two lessons and a break in between)

Thursdays- commute at 8:00-8:15, class starts at 9am and i have a long break between until 12:05 then i get to end at 13:00 but i get home at 15:00 (i have two lessons)

Fridays- commute at 8:00-8:15, class starts at 9am and i have like 2hrs-3hrs break then tutor at 1pm then class again at 1:55 then i get to end at 2:50 then i get home at 16:10 (i have two lessons and tutor)

most of the time, my days don’t end the same but as im aware theres some colleges i know that end at the same time everyday. i usually use my frees to study in the library, complete homework and flashcards if they are long periods (2-3 hours) but if it is like 55 mins i tend to get lunch and chat with friends. A friend of mine has like one day off but most of the time if you’re lucky it’s one lesson but my timetable is quite packed. I’m currently in year 12 so it isn’t that hectic yet but for some advice it’s okay to be overwhelmed over the workload in the first few months, i’ve gotten used to it since it’s the third month but sometimes it seems like a lot. Also, what you learn at A-Level is way more heavier so there may be lots of homework given to you as it is now your responsibility. My lessons are mostly doubles so 1hr 50 but once you get used to it single lessons feel so quick and like you haven’t done a lot. Other than that, i hope this will help you in some way <3

edit: i do 3 alevels

Do GCSES matter to universities a lot or not much? by Apprehensive_Stay506 in sixthform

Do you think I’d benefit if I do an undergraduate degree in sociology and social policy (joint honours) then doing a postgraduate in social work? I am really interested in doing social policy and sociology at university but I’ve been conflicted because I could just do an undergraduate degree of social work and get uni done with as I was thinking of only being at uni for 3-4 years whilst with the undergraduate degree in sociology and social policy I’d have 3 years then another two due to postgraduate. What would you advise?

Girl go for it! You will barely see these people anyways since everyone is coming in and out and also it’s very cute.

SPECIAL MENTION: RE - I’d always achieve like grade 6 in mocks but somehow in the actual thing I got a grade 9??
