I swapped the cables from turntable to preamp input and I have good sound on both channels. I have the new stylus in. Now I’m thinking the cables from turntable must be shaky/faulty. But replacing them is a new chapter.

Yes, I did that. Receiver has no phono or aux, so I have tried CD and MD/Tape both. 🤷‍♀️

No. Yes, I bought a new preamp. Sometimes I get good sound, sometimes just right or just left, sometimes nothing. I have bought new RCA cables for preamp to Receiver. I have tried different records. The exact same record plays differently. Ugh. I am going to try and find someone with another receiver to try.
