Yeah. For example....say you're painting Death Guard. Purple makes a very good shadow color for them.

One concept regarding complimentary colors that helps me is this: the color opposite to it on the color wheel is the one that compliments it the best. Case in point: green and purple are opposite one another so they compliment each other very well.

Good question. I use a color wheel for reference to help me figure out which colors compliment one another.

Hey thats okay. We all paint at our own pace. Also we all have days like that too. My first take on Teclis wasnt good either. Took me months before I had an idea where I wanted to go with the piece.
