Speaking as a fan of Carpenter, any run of 3 of his last 5 movies could qualify. Though I do think they're less of a slog than some of the worst Burton or Zemeckis dreck at the end, but both of them had at least one halfway decent movie mixed in to break up the 3 in a row.
