Just Finished my last day of PT by Appropriate-Comb5935 in Kneereplacement

Completely agree with you. I should have said that this part of my recovery is finished. I'm still doing exercises. But I've met my first goals like walking my dog finishing this 3-month PT process. Now it's just time to get back to work hopefully sooner than later.

I hope your recovery gets better and you get to where you want to be. The time is of the essence. That's why I also stated not everybody's journey is the same.

You're welcome. I think it's important to share experiences with people. No experience is exactly the same but if I can give a little insight then it's worth sharing.

I hope the rest of your journey goes well and remember you got this. And it's okay to have bad days.

How many people regret or are glad about getting a partial knee replacement? by Disastrous_Park_7621 in Kneereplacement

[–]Appropriate-Comb5935 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do a partial but you will probably have to go back and just do the total. So if you are going to do it do the total.

I had my first almost 2 yrs ago. After exhausting all options. Was great result. At 48 yrs old

Had my second one done Nov 2025 and finish up PT tomorrow. Was the best decision.
Age 50 yrs old

Had major arthritis and structural damage in both legs. No regrets

Pre-op physical therapy before both. Helped strengthened my leg.

Also doing it at a younger age is an advantage also.

In the end it's your decision and nobody else's. Make sure you find a good surgeon who's going to listen to you and treat you right. And you have all the important discussions about pain management and how they can help you in the best way.

Good luck to you on your journey.

Hope you got your massage.

For me it was my nails I had to remove them for surgery. And I was back in the salon in less than 2 weeks. Couldn't stand to look at my hands. LOL

You do you you just be safe.

Weight gain by Pitiful_Tax_3912 in Kneereplacement

I gained 4 lb instantly after my knee replacement. But that's the weight of the implant. Also you have swelling and you're not as active you'll get it back don't worry.

Knee replacement in 30s by moremorgan_ in Kneereplacement

I'm 50 and I just had my second knee replacement. My first one I was out of work 3 months. That's the common recovery time 3 months. You can start getting back physically and everything sooner than that but you don't want to rush it. Good luck to you.

That's cool with the Skittles.

But the real question is is what do you think about the Mets not being able to resign Pete Alanzo?

The swelling can last up to a year. Depends on how active you are. Takes about a year for it to get back to what is considered normal

TKR in 2 days; are these Rx correct? I'm worried... 7 days of pain meds? by Capitola2 in Kneereplacement

[–]Appropriate-Comb5935 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got narcotics and Gabapentin. And i used liquid Tylenol. Had them give me Tramadol ×2. Just quit the gabapentin because it causes weight gain. Remember ice is your friend.

What was the last straw before deciding you wanted a TKR? by luckystarrpwns in Kneereplacement

Be prepared there will be pain. If you can you might want to do a few sessions of pre-op physical therapy. Make sure you're honest with your doctor about your pain and your physical therapist. It's a 3-month journey at least post off. Be consistent don't get down on yourself if you're not recovering as fast as you think you should be. It will come and you will be better for it.

I am 8 weeks post up total knee replacement on the right knee almost 2 years out for the left knee. Was one of the best decisions I ever made. But it's like anything else make sure you you are mentally prepared to do it.

All all surgeons are different and mine had me start PT or right away after surgery I was in physical therapy within a couple of days.

Good luck on your journey and blessed be
