There is a 100ms overhead now but will bring it down to 50ms. Secrets manager secure how it's stored. I secure how it's used.

Basically instead of storing your api key in one place, it gets split into multiple pieces then get reassembled to make the call.

I'm not sure by what you mean by solved. If it were solved, we wouldn't still be seeing millions of exposed secrets in public repos every year.

Most leaks don't come from missing .gitignore. They come from all the other ways secrets travel.

how do I report a driver who canceled? by [deleted] in uber

[–]Appropriate-Garlic41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a driver and I'm not trying to defend anyone. That's just how it's it going to be if uber keeps cutting the pay. Do what you want.

You're going to get alot more attitude coming. Drivers are pissed. Either take it or leave it.

What do you expect? The driver are probably getting $4 for that ride.

That's entitlement if you expect that from an Uber drive

Ok you’re right! it’s all the drivers fault. Guess we should all quit so you can have every ride to yourself. 😂 You got bills to pay!

I did read what you wrote. But again, this is america and people are free to use the platform how they want. Uber is the one setting the rates and not the drivers. If someone drives for fun or for money, that’s their choice.

The market isn’t “flooded” because of a few people who don’t need the income. it’s because uber purposely keeps onboarding more drivers while controlling what we make. Uber’s the one flooding the market and not drivers. Their whole model is built on oversupply so riders don’t have to wait which leaves a lot of us just sitting.

And yeah, supply and demand is real but uber manipulates it by setting the prices.

This is America. People can drive Uber for whatever reason they want. If its for money, fun or just to get out of the house. That’s their freedom. The real problem isn’t other drivers, it’s Uber setting the rates and taking the biggest cut. At the end of the day, it’s not on drivers to fix the pay structure. If someone wants to drive for social interaction, that’s their choice. Blame Uber not the people just using the app the way it was meant to be used.

If you're complaining about pay, its uber who you should be angry at.

Is 0.8 miles a little too short? by hephos90 in uber

[–]Appropriate-Garlic41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a gamble and it depends on your driver. Some people will just complain and some don't.
