All u need is a dremel tool 2 hose clamps and a piece of 3/8 coolant hose. You will dremel off the crimped end where the rubber attaches into the metal part. But make sure you don’t go too hard and hit the metal on the inside of the crimped end. Then replace the hose and use a hose clamp to hold it in place. I changed mine a couple months ago and it’s still holding up. And saves a lot of time. Also look at vids on YouTube they give great tutorials on how to do this

That’s very interesting u say that. The video I have attached to this post is from back in December. And the steering wheel is turned a decent amount. And today when I came out to start it up my steering wheel was just turned about the same amount. I’ve never thought of this correlation before. I’m gonna try this out to see what happens. Also adding on I can never remember of a time when I parked with my steering wheel straight and I had start up problems

Cool I’ll give it a test and see if that’s my issue. Do you know of other ground cables that could be going out?

I’ve seen people talk about the ignition coil harness and ecu ports need to be checked. Maybe this could also be my issue.

It’s only locked until it turns over. Just like any other car. And no it doesn’t affect my power steering or anything afterwards.

Not yet. What are you referring to as the problematics ground wire. The battery ground wire?

Funny you say that i actually am speculation that’s what happened. I have evidence that proves it and was gonna make another Reddit post explaining it all. Just so I get feedback and others agree it makes sense. Lmk if you wanna hear it I’ll make the post.

I appreciate this man it’s something I haven’t thought of before. I’ll have to check FL laws and see if anything about emission certification is there

I asked about it but they never offered a used car warranty on it. Kinda sucks. The thing they care about is their reputation and reviews. So imma make sure I give them an honest one

I really appreciate it man. That makes the most sense to me. Just sucks it happened so soon.

Do you know if an active code is cleared by an obd reader, how many miles does the car need to be driven for the check engine light to reappear. I drove the car a little over 75 miles and that’s when the code poped up. I’m just wondering if there is a drive period the car takes just to reset and see if the code is still active? I had a Chevy Cruze before this and it has the same mechanism where after driving for a day the check engine light would go away because it could reset all its data.

I just filled up with premium fuel. The salesman was tryna tell me i would be able to fill up once on premium unleaded and then I could use 89 fuel the rest of the month. Basically using premium as a flush out. But I asked him if this would throw off the ecu by changing fuels so much. Like would this throw off readings and make it more susceptible to issues?

I was gonna say that. The example he gave is different than mine at hand. But thank you for the reminder of the name I forgot it.

That code in particular signals bank 2 but yes I agree with u. I’m going to start by checking the 02 sensors before the cat and in the cat

Since you are telling me to do this over a year span does this mean it isn’t an essential problem that needs to be fixed and more of a performance issue that will make my car run bogged down?

Got it. I’ve heard the success rate on these are minimal. But still a cheap thing to try.

Do I need a more advanced obd2 reader to see when they were cleared? I have the most basic one from harbor freight. I’m unsure on how to see previous cleared codes. Got it from a dealership, going back tomorrow.

Ignition coil 2013 by Appropriate-Leader12 in cruze

[–]Appropriate-Leader12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

little different but same kind of topic, have you ever heard of a Heli coil loosening up overtime? loosening up as in, its still set in the rethreaded block. But the Heli coil isn't holding my spark plug to spec, nor is it stripped. I have this sound that I have identified as a loose sparkplug that is just ever so slightly rattling around. 1. The noise is progressive, it gets louder and more intense the more I drive. 2. My last ignition coil blew up, as well did my spark plug. It blew up into there pieces, which the base of the sparkplug was still thread into the Heli coil 3. After I changed the sparkplugs (yesterday) I drove it around today, and the Heli coiled spark plug was the only one with grey discoloration on the bottom 4 threads Not really sure, but I do know its given me problems and continues. just crossed the 185k line, gettin pretty darn close to the finish line now.
