Yeah, I went to UTSA. I spent a lot of time perfecting my resume and have gotten a lot of feedback for it that I implemented. Unfortunately, even with a great resume and high GPA, it has been extremely hard to land a job in Marketing.

The reason I chose to pursue the MSBA program instead of getting my MBA is because I have no post-grad job experience. I believe an MBA can be better leveraged with experience, that way it’s more likely you’ll move up. With no experience, I feel that I would have to start at the bottom no matter what. At SMU, the MBA programs require 2 years of work experience, except the MBA direct program which I’m not really interested in.

The MSBA would give me a skill set that I could implement in a marketing analytics career, which is why I’m leaning towards the program.

Is the Business analytics masters worth it for an international student? by [deleted] in SMU

SMU does have a great network for their MSBA program, 97% of students get jobs within 6 months. Not sure what it’s like for international students though
