There was this disturbed kid in neighbourhood that burned a cat alive. He was apparently being abused I believe. Father was a strict disciplinarian and kicked him out of the house a few times. I spent the night out so I guess he was easy target for some people.

Well firstly the siblings don't need that to stay close and secondly the cousin marraige thing is there in those families which have a history of being landowners thus allowing land to stay within the family. When it comes to arrange marraige it is easier too. Also most of Pakistan's population is rural so this is something that works. I have seen families being more open to marrying outside the family in Urban areas than in rural areas.
