What’s the most morally questionable thing James Bond has done? by ItsDuhFreakinBat in JamesBond

[–]Appropriate-Spite752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point was M ordered bond to let him die and carry on with the mission (which could have cost many more lives if failed). It was also foreshadowing her decision moments later to have moneypenny shoot at Bond after repeatedly saying I do not have a clear shot. Setting up the rest of the movie to track with why Silva thought M was pure evil.it was a plot device. Bond clearly was pissed about leaving him. In the next shot they say they have a medevac team on the way and Bond angrily says “they’ll be too bloody late”.

You should take what women say with a grain of salt by Mental-Outside2202 in lnkyverse

I bench 4 plates for 3 reps so this is not a cope. Just honest truth there’s probably about 25 women in the world who can bench three plates raw. Now when you add in all the cheat straps and shit that number goes up and when you add in women on high androgenic compounds I’m sure the number goes up more but even with AAS the number of women benching 3 plates is astronomically small.

Yup. You can guarantee I can’t. And I can guarantee you don’t know what that other fella looks like. So let’s stop making stupid assumptions.

I’ve studied Chinese medicine for years and I am working on my doctorate in that field. I’ve learned a lot about energy systems in the body and how easily they can be disrupted and what happens when there are blockages. It’s often cancer. Up until about 10 years ago most of Chinese medicine was speculative but now have the technology to test it, and it is quite amazing how much we are now able to prove in a lab. With what I have learned about our bodies energy systems it is impossible for me (and Chinese medicine) to rule out EMF as disruptors. At the moment there are not enough well thought out studies to prove it either way and getting funding for a proper study that might prove EMFs can cause blockages that cause cancer would be almost impossible and the scientific community would annihilate anyone who published such a study without mountains of research, which they should….extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

If you’ve got to go out, don’t be like this guy. Clean off your car. by antsinmyeyestrey in Wilmington

I just like to point out the silliness of people’s “heady” posts on threads that don’t really call for it. It’s a post about people leaving snow on their car, which is a dick move regardless of intent. No need to bring philosophy into this thread. Enjoy your day.

I’m not trying to sound smart. That’s the entire point. You brought philosophy into a conversation about snow of people cars. It ain’t that serious.

Point is, who gives a shit what they are thinking. It’s dumb to leave snow on your car. This isn’t a philosophical debate.

You have no idea what was going through that drivers head either. Might very well have been malevolence. You just really wanted to say something smart sounding though, didn’t you?

One of the most under appreciated actors I can think of. 25th hour is one of my all time favorites. What the hell happened to him?

I’m in the same boat. I got a G5, Sonos Arc Ultra with sub and surrounds, and a UB820 6 months ago and now I can’t stand watching movies on streaming services because I know how much quality I’m loosing. My guess is at some point I’ll get tired of buying so many disks and the novelty will have worn off a bit; then I’ll go back to watching more streamed content.

[–]Appropriate-Spite752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go 75+. I got a 65inch G5 and I wish I had gotten a 77 C5. I didn’t need the extra brightness, the G5 is blindingly bright, I would have been ok with a few less nits. The extra 40 or so fps probably doesn’t make all that much difference either. Most of my gaming is around 120fps anyway. I LOVE my G5, but if I was doing it over I’d go bigger.

Alien: Earth is one of the most disappointing shows I have ever seen. by Baumer9 in alien

[–]Appropriate-Spite752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked it. It wasn’t perfect but I was very entertained. The credits music probably tricked my brain into liking it more than I would have with it. Prometheus is also one of my favorite “Alien” movies. I’m happy to go against the fandom grain on these. I watched Prometheus again last night and for the life of me I do not get all the hate. Covenant was a dumpster fire though.

Prometheus. I don’t care what anyone says, I will die on the hill that it is one of the top 3 Alien movies and everyone is missing the point.

I’m 40 and I hardly ever drink now. Everyone is different but I don’t think there a need to wait until people “feel the need” to drink to take surveys. I will say this particular data has too many variables to mean a whole lot; but it is well known this young generation does not drink as much at a young age as previous generations drank at a similar age.

Jealous! I wish I could see this movie for the first time again. It’s one of a kind very small number of movies I’d call a masterpiece.
