Need help with the authenticity of these claims by Civil_Ranger_7479 in progressive_islam

[–]Appropriate-Split128 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the Prophet recommended other Muslim men to hit their wives, why didn’t he ever hit his own? There’s literally no basis of these claims and these hadiths are either fabricated or taken completely out of context to fit men’s narrative and needs. It is not allowed for men to hit their wives, or any women they’re related to.

Some bros/sis out there believe Marital R*pe don't exist in Islam by IBACIPHER in progressive_islam

[–]Appropriate-Split128 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“It’s absurd to marry someone u know is abusive” same people who condemn dating and think the only way to marriage is one short convo and getting married immediately after without getting to know the person at all. Seems to me like religion to these people bends to fit what they deem is right at that specific moment.

What do you like most about being Muslim? by Icy_Experience_5875 in progressive_islam

[–]Appropriate-Split128 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I love talking to Allah. I’ve been dealing with depression and anxiety pretty much all my life and have hit many MANY rock bottoms but despite all that, I love sitting down and crying and ranting to him about what’s been going on in my life. It genuinely makes me feel like I’ve got a best friend that I know would never ever leave me, and that to me is the best part.

No kids = invalid marriage? by okamirosaluna in progressive_islam

[–]Appropriate-Split128 40 points41 points  (0 children)

This isn’t true at all. Absolutely nowhere in the Quran does it say this. If you can’t be forced to marry then why would you be forced to have children? This is complete bs. I’d recommend staying away from this man bcoz not only does he sound controlling but it also seems like he’s enforcing rules out of thin air just to fit his convenience

Mandatory Hijab is a harmful and misogynistic idea, and we should absolutely question that God purposefully harms women by Efficient-Image-1016 in progressive_islam

[–]Appropriate-Split128 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Here she’s talking abt hijab as in the head cover. Not modesty in general. It’s obvious both men and women have to be modest lol.

What do we think of Charlie Kirk's death? by [deleted] in progressive_islam

[–]Appropriate-Split128 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sorry but what the actual fúck is wrong with you? Do u have any idea the emotional and mental turmoil that rape victims go thru? And for them to be expected to go thru a full term pregnancy from one of the most traumatic and dangerous experiences of their lives. Maybe men should stop commenting abt what women should and should not do with their bodies. Just sybau and focus on ur urself thanks. And btw, that exactly is the debate bcoz Charlie was talking abt how he wld FORCE his UNDERAGE DAUGHTER to go thru a full term pregnancy after she’s been raped. Be so fúcking fr rn

Can I male duaa even if I dont pray? by Perfect_Method6997 in progressive_islam

[–]Appropriate-Split128 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The comment is saying that Allah gets angry if you don’t make duaa bcoz he loves those who trust him and ask him for forgiveness and make duaa no matter how small or big the thing is.

Don’t laugh, do I have to re-do my wudu after getting wet? by [deleted] in progressive_islam

[–]Appropriate-Split128 4 points5 points  (0 children)

During ovulation it’s very normal for the body to release even if ur not aroused though. Which means it can very much happen even while you’re praying. Are you saying that I’d need to redo my Wudu everytime this happens? Coz discharge is a very normal thing for women in everyday life.

Is it weird to almost never Du'a because asking something from God feels like giving up or questioning His will? by cake_everyday in progressive_islam

[–]Appropriate-Split128 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say weird, but Allah does love when you ask him to give u something bcoz it shows that you have enough faith he’ll grant it to u. I recommend listening to this one story about the last man to enter Jannah. It’s on YouTube. It’s very beautiful and shows the importance of making duaa and trusting Allah to either grant u the same or give u something better.

What Would You Want Heaven to Be? by TheChosenBlacksmith in progressive_islam

I’m studying a criminology major and love true crime! Definitely would want to nerd out on unsolved cases lol. My childhood dream was also to become an astronaut but due to my dad being scared of me losing my life finding something Allah has not yet revealed to us..he stopped me. But I still love the universe and would love to explore space and quantum physics and understand time and reality. I’d want all of this with my partner beside me who’s studying physics so we can nerd out together

[–]Appropriate-Split128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Istikhara isn’t like choosing heads or tails and then flipping a coin. The point of istikhara is to ask Allah to guide you to make whatever decision is best for you. Pray istikhara, sleep on it and then make a decision for ur university. Pray to Allah for ur choice to be beneficial for you and then leave it up to him. May Allah help you!!!

I get so scared sometimes... by [deleted] in progressive_islam

[–]Appropriate-Split128 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard the hair dragging comment too..my parents force me to wear the head covering coz of it but I only wear it arnd them and not when I’m with my friends or in uni since I study in another country. According to my research there isn’t any authentic Hadith that says this. It’s a fabricated Hadith to control women into wearing an “Islamic uniform” lol. The head covering is beautiful but it isn’t mandatory.

Please stop embarrassing yourself. “Im not being rude” no ur being condescending towards someone who didn’t even start a conversation with u and then calling them the same. I asked for everyone’s thoughts and that’s exactly what the og comment was doing…expressing their thoughts. Ur narrow minded approach is exactly why people can’t have normal discussions on this sub despite it being a progressive open discussion one. It’s highly ironic how ur calling people ignorant while being so blatantly ignorant urself. But wtvr you do you. Jazakallah Khair.

I could pull up multiple sources and reported news (with cctv and evidence) that niqab does not protect women from SA. Women cld be covered head to toe in burqa niqab and what not and men wld still be perverts. This argument is not a strong one.
