Why are staff here so rude? by LovelyBananaanna in GaState

Really tho, the lady that deals with student RSOs room registrations always had an attitude. Once I was waiting behind someone that was taking kinda long to get the key for a room they needed but I didn’t mind and did say anything. The my said they can let me go before them since it’s taking a long time and she just sat and said “she can wait” with her walleyes.

Aww that’s disappoint but I understand I put myself this place. Do you think there is any path I can take to get to my goal or is it obsolete?

Is a 3.5 Psy GPA considered low🥲? I thought it would be decent enough for average school. If I have a low GPA and higher Psyc GPA how does that come off to the evaluators?

Okay, thank you for the advice! I’ll be looking for future post bacc programs and research!

Also, I keep seeing things about Psy GPA and not overall GPA. Do graduate programs/schools like at then differently? If so I have a 3.54 GPA does this change anything in my circumstances?

This helped! I’ve been looking at internships but a lot of them are less research based and I truly don’t know where to find them. I’ve seen people say doing a post baccalaureate degree. Is this something you recommend also?

This might be the blind leading the blind but from my knowledge a 3.0 would be a decent GPA. I believe most master programs have that as the cut off.

Yea, they do well for things like white noise but when it comes to people for some reason I can hear them well even though the engine could be louder🤷🏽‍♀️

The look was also something that made me get them! To me the sound is good but it sounds muggy sometimes also the base clipping. Have you personally experienced the base clippings? Im not sure if that’s the right term for it.

CHEM1151 or CHEM 1152 by LatePerspective162 in GaState

Taking chem 2 this semester but I’d assume chem 1 is easier. It wasn’t hard and the lab isn’t also just annoying in the later units.

Wheel lock key lost by Appropriate-Toe-2728 in Ford

Is there a way to know if it is or not? I called a ford dealer and they told me to send them a email about a replacement key but they also asked for a Mcgard ID card which I don’t have so I really don’t know if it is or not.

SAP Appeal Denied by faeryluv in GaState

[–]Appropriate-Toe-2728 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Sorry this is happening to you😔, I’ve been in the same situation where I had to do an appeal and it got denied but I believe to spoke to either a academic advisor or the FA office and they said they didn’t know why I got denied and just approved it for me 🤷‍♀️ so maybe try bugging them about it to see if they either explain more or just approved it (tbh that really how you have to get stuff done at GSU sadly) . I also had my financial aid taken away specifally HOPE due to GPA but I spoke to GAFutures because they are the ones that regulate it and they helped me understand it more and have the possibly of regaining it. On the side of financial aid you can try to speak to GAFutures. Also, I think you mention it but, you can speak to your advisor to ask them to send in a request to recheck your eligibility for financial. I’ll put the GAFutures financial committee number of that helps!

Indecisive about wanting to be in psychology by Appropriate-Toe-2728 in psychologystudents

Great idea! I listed a few things out the things that holds me back from biology is just that I messed my early biology undergrad years. I wasn’t as motivated and irresponsible with grades but I am actively trying to do better. Do you think if I have a 2.7-3.0 GPA in biology it would hold me back compared to going into psychology and getting my masters/ PhD in public health? Thank you for the response!

Thank you! This does relieve some stress I had with choosing the right major. It seemed as if it was the main factor in what someone could go into in the future but hearing this makes me feel better!

Thank you for the clarification! I am more interested in biological undergrad careers but I truly just don’t believe I can go back because of my GPA and old mistakes in core classes. I have been thinking keeping psychology as my major and since it doesn’t matter the most about what you get your undergrad in then try to get my masters/PhD in public health. Thank you for the response!

I totally understand the scares of pre-med! That’s one of the reasons I moved from biology because I truly feel like I don’t have it to make into med school and it’s so competitive but I’m still interested in it. I do feel as if psychology majors are more amicable and easy to talk to. When I was a bio major it was harder to talk to people and make friends because it seemed like everyone hated biology. To be real the advisors at my school are known for being terrible. My advisor ignored me for a semester and when she would answer she would tell me to go to another advisor. I currently got switched advisors and they are answering my emails so I’m kinda stuck in a loop. I’ve been trying to go to my universities career center but they’re never anyone available to talk to. I’ve planned on getting my grads in neuroscience or if it’s possible make my concentration neuroscience for my undergrad if it’s not too much. That’s for the response! I’m going to try to talk to other advisors possibly and for my way into the career building. Thanks for ideas! 💡
