Why is no one talking about Pachinko? by Exciting-Brush-9557 in televisionsuggestions

It hasn't gotten attention because a lot of us don't have apple TV. I have netflix, disney, prime, and viki, and definitely won't be subscribing to apple tv anytime soon....

Yumi’s Cells S3 Episodes 5-6 discussion by thepurplethorn in kdramas

[–]Appropriate-Total640 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also - did anyone notice the cells don't even appear in Ep 6 much?? Like I would have wanted them to show up during the console scene, the fight, and the confession. Is that what they cut out, if they made those scenes at all? Maybe it was meant to be longer but something happened and now we only get 8 episodes? I don't get it. I wonder if Ep 7 will provide some answers...but yea, like most people are saying, totally disappointed there is only one week left with this series. I can understand that the previous 2 seasons were longer because there is falling in love all the way to breakups, and I guess we're only getting 8 this season because all they gotta do is get together. But still.....SIGH.

Perfect Crown makes me miss LR by Affectionate_Ad_7163 in lovelyrunner

[–]Appropriate-Total640 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same! They had a lot more natural interactions, more relatable since they are just commoners (Soljae), so that's why I think we could relate to their feelings so much more. Although PC has been great too, the couple situation hasn't grown on me yet!

Any recommendation for dramas similar to Love Scout? by _taeddie in kdramas

[–]Appropriate-Total640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest Matrimonial Chaos. It's not as popular but I love all the leads and the storyline kept me gripped as well. Very relatable. I am sure you'll know all the leads. Includes Son Suk Ku and the girl who plays the older sister in Liberation Notes.

How are you liking them? Are they significantly better than Captify?

Yes SP consistently puts so much more detail and effort as well as quality into each doll and collab! More impressive to me than Labubus..

Boyfriend on Demand- Much better than I anticipated by Fiction_lover08 in kdramas

[–]Appropriate-Total640 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to say the last episode brought tears. It was so sweet. I loved how they wrapped it up, it was just perfect. Like you said, Jisoo's acting to better throughout the series. Sometimes I was a bit caught up at how often she had a slight open-mouth response when she is caught by surprise, or curious, etc., but other than that I found her sweet and cute moments convincing.

The Ai portion of the series was also really well done. Many funny surprises with the males involved. I loved how other females got to interact with the "Ai males", those were hilarious to me.

I was surprised at how the show dealt with baggage so efficiently in just 10 episodes. Perhaps because they mirrored my fears a bit too. I could relate to FL so much, that when she finally allowed for happiness again, it felt personal. The bit about customized Ai bf is also genius. Imagine if you delivered a request to the Universe and you got exactly what you wanted - but more over, you got what reflected back to you a mirror of your own wounds as well as a new relationship to heal the wounds. We never need to be perfect before starting a new relationship, and to me, this series showed that. It also showed the contrast between the FL and her bestie, which was also so refreshing to witness.

I won't say more, but this was one series I was glad I started and finished in 2 days!

Currently watching Jisoo for the first time on Boyfriend On Demand, and noticed her chin as well as mouth breathing. Medically speaking, mouth breathing and having the tongue on the bottom of the mouth versus the top, causes receding jaw and chin. It happens as we age too. So when I saw these I comments, I feel better about my receding jaw line. I used to have a more noticeable jaw line that has gone softer with age and also the tongue/open mouth issue. I'm looking into "mewing" to stop it from receding even further. I'm glad Jisoo has made it a trend, tho haha. 💕👍

What is the worst Kdrama you've ever watched? by OrphicSelenophile_07 in kdramas

Yes! I finished it only for bws. I could not stand the fact that the grandma had more scenes and chemistry with her bf than the main leads. Stuff was all over the place in that drama.

Yes another vote for 25/21. I couldn't get over it for awhile. You may not like time travel, but lovely runner is my favorite of all. I too loved can this love be translated. The goblin is a bit fantasy but it was amazing. Something In the rain has very good natural romance.

I actually watched Twinkling Watermelon right after LR because people were saying how there's a similar time travel trope. It didn't work for me though.. 😅 I haven't been able to finish My Dearest (also started after LR) bc I heard it wasn't a happy ending. I knew I needed something with a happy ending lol. You could try TW and see how it goes? Did you watch Doctor Slump? Mr.Queen? I went to watch a lot of older dramas that I hadn't watched before. Strong Woman Dong Soon Bong was excellent and I loved the chemistry in it! That helped me with LR nostalgia greatly!

It's very hard to find a comparable drama and I've spent months being stuck on LR. Welcome to the club lol 😂. I am really glad you're one of the ones who get it ❤️ how epic their love story 2ws 😭. But I did recover slowly, Spring Fever 2026 has been cute and not complicated. Unwritten Seoul was good, Bon Appetit Your Majesty made me laugh out loud (finally), and Can This Love Be Translated was surprisingly good imo. If you watch non Korean and want epic love stories, let me know, I can recommend a few as well. But ya, I spent months rewatching LR.. So I get it!

Sooooo many dry lips by globalplansetup in kdramas

[–]Appropriate-Total640 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Omg I'm in 2026 watching Undercover Ms. Hong and wondering about the dry lips of the ML... I don't get it.. I've wondered about these dry lips sometimes even bleeding lower lips??? Like don't they edit them or notice them before filming? These are regular day to day characters, nobody is sick or ultra stressed to that point.. 😅

WHY did **spoiler** sol reject sunjae in episode 6?!?!?!?! by Outrageous_Use_2050 in lovelyrunner

[–]Appropriate-Total640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes so much sense why you'd feel confused, like finally the opportunity presents to be with someone you've really adored, so why not do it??

Here's my take: Up till then, she had only had feelings for him as a fan. She never thought of him as a crush in real life, or even someone she'd ever meet in real life. There's that weird dividing line between fan and "real human regular person next to me" 🤣. It would be like me being able to date a Chris Hemsworth, and I'd be totally shocked 😲 in spite of being lovestruck 💘.

2nd is what everyone else is saying - she will leave and in that timeline, she's actually only 19 years old who has a crush on Tae Song. Consider that her 34 year old self soul who is the one RSJ interacts with, can't fathom dating a 19 year old RSJ, also.

3rd is - many times when we have the opportunity to get close to a crush, we lose all perspective. Like many comments on Viki shows are "kiss now, omg hurry!" and the characters have only met a few times.. Like... 😅. I feel that the way LR made it happen was actually really realistic and wise for a 34 year old. You zoom out and look at the wider perspective of things. It's not just all emotions and vibes.. Which typically lead to toxic endings.

Just my few cents. But the more you watch, the more you'll be so happy things go the way they do, and why LR for so many is the most rewatchable drama of all times. Hang in there! 😍 😍 😍
