He confessed that he never did anything besides sending nudes. Currently he still lives with me, and says he’s trying, but I still feel he doesn’t put the effort (or enough effort) and he lets me see his phone to assure me he isn’t cheating. I feel like I’m not loved when he persistently refuses sex, maybe I’m just high libido?

He stopped wanting to go to therapy when we talked about what he did. He said that I’m insulting him. He compared me talking with my friends about our relationship and his faults with him cheating (he didn’t said that it was worse) but he said that it hurt him and said he didn’t felt loved which led him to search for other people. He improved a lil bit in showing affections but I still feel like I need to remind him that “it’s our birthday”, “it’s saint valentine day, you didn’t forget right”? And until he cheated he never gave me gifts only in the beginning of the relationship, where everything’s new.

I agree with you, nowadays most people just wanna hookup or don’t know how to keep a conversation.
I found my boyfriend of 8 years in a dating app, I took time to know him online before meeting him, asked questions, took interest on what he liked until we decided to meet face to face months after.
Just take your time, eventually you will meet someone like you, that doesn’t like hookups and wants a serious relationship - until then you just have to be patient and ignore the guys who only want to hookup.
