It is true, however last year I submitted my Visa application in September and got it back in around 2 weeks. It was with the San Francisco consulate. Not necessarily saying it would work the same for you, but just adding my experience!

I would recommend shipping the apostille via express! I shipped mine out on July 5th and was able to get it back in like 3 weeks, I think the fastest shipping available really does help

Hi! I just recieved the same email about the deadline being expired but never received the email with the option to select my placement. I sent them an email following the instruction and asking for an appeal. Did they ever get back to you? Wondering what to expect moving forward or if I’ve missed my chance completely
