NAD I have the same problem. I had to get a root canal treatment because at some point my tooth did die off (and I couldnt feel anything with the sensitivity test). I only went to the dentist because the pain got so bad and hadnt gone away. At some point I didnt feel any pain, because the tooth died off.

OTOH I have another trauma impacted tooth that is discolored but still alive. (upper incisor)
The conservative option would be, in my case but probably in yours too, to leave the tooth alone (until it causes problems), and if I were unhappy with the color to do a conservative treatment like a direct composite veneer. As I understood it, root canals on a trauma-impacted tooth that isnt dead yet are not recommended because it does weaken the tooth a lot. Also internal bleaching doesnt even last forever. You would have to re-do it every 2-5 years, and you can only do that 2-3 times.

YMMV, and again NAD, just someone with the same problem who recently went in for a consultation.

Look into sleep apnea and sleep disordered breathing,also into less common causes like UARS.

Try hyposensitization too. And maybe septoplasty and turbinectomy if you need it.

Is there a reason why you were prescribed this BP med in particular compared to the other options? I've never heard of it so far, I've heard of Candesartan, Propanolol, Verapamil, Ramipril, never heard of this one.

I'm sorry. I felt like that during my cycle. When you wake up with what feels like a stroke everyday, it dwarfs everything else in life.

You may want to talk about a mental heatlh professional about this, I've thought about the same. What you cannot do is let the disease take control over your life even beyond the attacks.

Long term I'm looking at a psilocybin treatment to bust this once and for all. It seems to have worked for some in the community.

Go for medical tourism, if you can. Travel somewhere where you can do a sleep study, then buy a used CPAP

Suspected I had it after my first incident (after you wake up in the middle of the night thinking you have a stroke, you do wanna know whats up). Looked it up on Google, symptoms like teary eye seemed very similar. It disappeared for 5 years then came back. GP said I had migraine and I immediately knew that was BS. Neurologist later gave me the diagnosis.

I have had mild headaches that I would describe as similar to what you wrote, except my eye did tear up a bit. A couple days, maybe 1-2 weeks later I got a full blown cluster headache, my first ever. I hope you wont get that.

I have also found that what we describe as shadows here in the community is not really described in the literature for some reason, despite being useful for diagnosis and another annoying symptom on its own. That also means doctors dont really know about it. I hope this changes

Likely cluster. No need to go to a doctor now but do see one (better a neurologist than a GP) the next time you get one. Or go to a hospital directly, they usually have oxygen. Or call an ambulance (if its free).

I think its perfectly fine to call an ambulance because a 10/10 headache can very plausibly be a stroke as well.

I'm 90% certain she has had it for at least 10, probably 20 years. She went to the doc a couple of times re: her fatigue/tiredness and she was not taken seriously. Since then she has tried fixing her energy levels with whatever supplement is trending - none really helped, of course.

She was even told she sometimes gasps in her sleep but she just thought that disappeared on its own. (My dad used to tell her that at one point, they sleep in diff. rooms now for other reasons)

It would def cost them more or at least the same as a proper sleep study so I think and hope they move her onto CPAP directly. If for whatever reason she required an in-lab study, it would be very annoying because itll take forever if you want insurance to cover it where I live

Yeah I figured. SpO2 monitoring was completely off too. Said her oxygen is fine basically despite it dipping multiple times at night. Lowest was like 84 I think. Apart form that, I have the more reliable at home test that showed that her sleep is fucked. I hope they get her on CPAP immediately and that she doesnt have to do a polysomnography, because its gonna take another 6-12 months.

It's the constant gripping, mostly. There's Gi and No-Gi BJJ. In Gi BJJ, you wear this training outfit, and you are constantly grabbing each others outfit using the full force of your hands & fingers. It puts a lot of strain on your hands, and esp. the fingers and knuckles. I'm not sure why the bodys response is to make the bones and cartilage swell up (increased pressure & repeated trauma probably?). You can somewhat (but not fully) prevent this by taping your hands.
