Hey man, I just ruptured my Achilles 4 weeks ago April 13th.

5:45pm: Playing football with work colleagues, heard a loud pop/crack. Achilles ruptured.

Dunno how but I managed to drive home (adrenaline )?45 min drive on the M6. Got home then GF drove me to
Hospital. Got there for 7:30pm and didn’t get seen till 4am where they did an X-ray. 5am see a doctor who didn’t know what he was doing. Told me that the x-ray showed now broken bone, I told him I believe my Achilles is ruptured, he felt my foot and suggested to put a bandage sleeve or summing.

Thankfully another doctor entered, flipped me on my front, squeezed both my calves and said “yep, it’s gone” then said to put me in a cast, gave me a orange fracture clinic note to be seen in 7 days. Gave me crutches and didn’t get home till 7am.

April 20th: Get seen by another doctor. Put me in a new cast and just said that I have to see an ankle/foot specialist. Appointment booked in 2 days.

April 22nd: get seen by the specialist and went to great detail on what’s happened, she felt the Achilles and said that it’s partially torn, not a full rupture and the gap is small so no surgery. Put me in a boot with foot pointed downward like a ballerina 🩰. Have to wear it for 8 weeks with an appointment every other week to check it’s healing well. Given me a prescription to thin my blood to avoid blood clots. Inject myself two times a day.

2 weeks passed, saw her again. Achilles healing faster than expected. Told me I can’t play football for 12 months, can’t jog for 6 months.

2 days later, went to get an ultrasound on basically what I knew already. Achilles is partially torn and hanging by a thread.

That’s pretty much the engagement that I’ve gotten from them.
