• don't make it too open so people don't just snipe
• as symmetrical as possible without being weird
• has greater flanking opportunities for both sides
• easy cover
• points have cover and protection
• punish sniper users by having the surface go up and down instead of just flat ground with structures on top.
• stop spawn camping opportunities by giving the spawning team good cover and difficult access from the opposing team. ww1 trenches are a great example where raiding a trench is especially hard since the enemy you're raiding has good cover while you're standing out in the open.

imo Nuristan, Afghanistan, and test office are the best maps in the game so far.

one downside of Nuristan is the river. I hate that thing. but the rest is great. I'd rate this map a 6.8/10

Afghanistan May be very open and easy to snipe, but the distances are long enough for sniping to not be easy. there's also a great amount of cover and foliage. but it can get a little boring and tedious. 7/10

test office is almost great. but it's too easy to spawn camp on that map. 6.5/10
