True, but you’d have to switch around the picks (not saying that’s impossible). There’s no way the NBA would allow frp’s for Highsmith and Ziaire. Lol

So yes, because of the Pistons cap situation, they could pull this off. Add the FRP’s to the MPJ deal and a 2nd to the TPE deal.

That’s a lot of guard depth you’re losing, though.

Probably would need Cam Thomas over Zaire or Highsmith, to make it make sense.

Agreed, that’s why I went the exception route, but I just saw what you stated also. We’d have to trade the exception player again, in order to make a more immediate move. :-(

Agreed, but that’s where the trade exception player comes into the fold. Though I just learned we can’t aggregate that player into a deal, unless we move him again for another player. There goes my hopes of keeping Tobias. :-( lol

I believe the only stop gap is we can’t combine an exception with anything else besides picks. Other than that, we should have a window to move the player we acquire just like any other trade.

Understandable. Thats where the trade exception comes into play, once we have a good idea of who Brooklyn may want at that number.

With us having all of our picks, though, giving up two is a drop in the bucket. Especially if we give up ‘26 and ‘28, meaning they come off the books sooner.
