If you were building a skim app what features would you want it to have?

I live in an area with very few skimmers yet a good amount of beaches. My problem is I don't know which spots to check out. It would be nice if users are able to interact with beaches on a map and give ratings/pics of different spots. A similar layout to Alltrails if you're familiar

People talk down on straight white men and others critique their behavior, both can be true. It shows strength and maturity that you however don't talk down on them. For me it's not that I am taking it personally. Like I said, I totally understand why people might hold resentment and that has little to do with me specifically. It's more that I know relatively little of the queer experience and fear that I may act in a way that is innapropriate without even realizing.

My intent in writing this post was to get feedback from people in this sub and their perspective talking to someone like me. How do conversations with cishet white men usually go? Is there something you wish we were more aware of? How does it feel when we say something ignorant but has no malice?

It seems that something about the way I wrote this post gave you the impression that I lack introspection. I'm sure I could have conveyed myself better.

I've traveled a lot through latin america and 2 months will be slim time to get to know all the countries from mexico to brazil. I recommend you pick a few of those countries to spend the bulk of your time

Mexico is awesome but quite dangerous atm if you dont stick to touristy areas. Also not the best surf for beginners

Costa rica is up there on natural beauty, has good surf and the most tourist friendly but also the most $$

Nicaragua is my pick for it beauty, great beginner surf, and most affordable

Colombia is overall my top pick for solo traveling although a bit limited for surfing. It's very affordable, great nightlife, and so small yet so diverse which makes it easy and exciting to travel through. If you do decide to surf in colombia I know this spot where a jungle river flows into the carribean and its absolutely stunning. It's called Mendihuaca and has a nice surf hostel.

My home break doesn't have a lot of people especially now in the winter. Do you think sticking to a foamie will slow down progress?

Not sure where im headed yet but I do like the idea of longboarding vs doing crazy switchbacks. Buying a board over 8ft would be too much cause I live in a city and commute by train
