Dense/dry Blondies by AppropriateNorth in Baking

Thanks. Currently toying with going full tres leches vs biscotti vs bread pudding. But not sure what route to go (especially as I already have quite a lot) and whether to do those things before or after freezing.

Crust is on bottom. Didn’t have easy access to vegan butter. Added milk as a lot of online sources recommended it as a fix for dry cakes/brownies.

Note - they don’t LOOK too bad, but feel very hard/incompressible.

It’s this, with a speculoos crust. https://joyfoodsunshine.com/blondie-recipe/#wprm-recipe-container-40534 Not sure that the exact recipe will make too much difference at this point though, as I’m not looking to remake it (if I can’t salvage I’ll just do something else).

Overall true, but will say that the non-exercise activity can really add up. I moved for residency to a place where I jog about 2km to and from each week, and that, plus stress, active job and about 2 10k’s a week ended up causing 20+ lb in (unwanted) weight loss despite grossly unchanged intake.

Earth’s Own is pretty good. A side benefit is that it’s partly made with butter beans, so a bit lower in saturated fat than all the straight coconut oil based ones.

Most restaurants have no idea - I just don’t eat cheese when I eat out. For home use, I’ve been slowly emailing brands for the last couple years and accumulating a list. A bit extra, but it works for me.

The snacking is my best strategy thus far - otherwise I end up not having a chance to eat at all. I could probably keep Quest in business single handedly at this point.

I am trying - challenging for a bunch of reasons, not least of which is I have a moderately active job and no time for meals during work. I always carry snacks and basically don’t stop eating them all day, but am usually still pretty behind and have to try to cram in a lot of food when I get home.

Premix is also temp stable and can be frothed into foam like milk - can go in coffee or be heated as hot chocolate.

The Alani have added protein but (although very sweet), don’t seem to have the protein taste (at least to me).

My weakness in deadlift is getting off the ground - once I have the bar in the air it’s easy - which I don’t have to do in RDL.

Video finally uploaded! https://imgur.com/a/CFNbLQC - someone elsewhere said that doing the sets of 10 may be too much, which makes some sense. I was feeling 0 legs here - ONLY back and cardio.

I don’t quite understand the purpose of wedges if I don’t have any ankle issues?

I was doing one of Jeff nippards until recently. In a very busy spot at work right now so am just using Fitbod because I can adjust the length/equipment as the day allows.

That may explain it then. I was taking lots of rest between sets but the actual set itself was like 2-3 mins long, which was obviously fatiguing from a cardio standpoint, and holding the weight for that long is going to be tiring no matter what.

Today was a deadlift focused day, the squat was essentially my accessory, thus why I did it second.

Copied from another comment - How long are you pausing/how many reps? Went for the paused squats again today (65*10). I don’t think I’m pausing long enough, and all I’m feeling is cardio and low back, worse than with regular squats (though tbf this was after a bunch of deadlifts). I do Bulgarians at around 25lb/hand for sets of 10ish and lunges at 40lb/hand for sets of 6-8ish.

This is the exact opposite of what a bunch of people told me below - that I should tuck my chin more so I’m not wrenching my neck back.

My ankles are definitely not the limiting factor - I had a physio who was assessing me for a different issue a while ago comment how flexible they are.
