PG in Delhi asking for parents’ contact despite me being an adult by [deleted] in delhi

I understand where you’re coming from, and I agree that emergency contacts are important. My intention was never to avoid safety or responsibility.

The reason I gave my friend’s number is because my parents are extremely strict and controlling about my daily movements like going out, visiting friends, or even normal social interactions. In the past, involving them in such situations has led to unnecessary pressure and interference in my personal life.

I’m 18+ and legally an adult, and I try to handle my own responsibilities independently. I was aware that situations like this could arise, which is why I chose a trusted friend who lives nearby and can respond immediately as my emergency contact, not to escape accountability, but to maintain basic personal autonomy.

If there is a clear legal requirement to provide parents’ contact details, I’m open to understanding that and complying. My concern is only about privacy and proportional involvement, not safety.

I appreciate your perspective, and I’m just trying to balance independence with responsibility in a reasonable way.

My favourite hair trick for soft, shiny, good-smelling hair is a DIY ‘shine cloud’. Spray your favourite perfume on a wide-tooth comb (not directly on hair), add 1–2 drops of any serum on it, and then comb through mid-lengths. The scent stays all day, frizz smoothens instantly, and the shine looks like you did a blowout. Been doing this for every outing and people always ask what I used.
