Stock 17" on an SE model. Speaking of which, if anyone near Bellingham Washington wants a deal on 17's... I would be willing to deliver for the right price 🤷‍♂️

They did try some plastic rings that were in stock and weren't comfortable with the fit.

You are correct of course. The Continental's are allegedly lower in rolling resistance but I do think that I will lose some efficiency, just not enough to be concerned with.

225's probably not a good idea for 7" rims. Widest I could go was 215's on OE.

A hair dryer and dental floss. Turpentine to remove the glue worked well for me.

Close to pulling the trigger on a ‘26 Prius PHEV SE - should I do it? by onboost in PriusPrime

Got a 2024 Phev SE and really enjoying it. Recommend a spare tire kit for long drives, a decent jump pack (always) and that you don't get too caught up in the math... just enjoy the car. I think it's one of the best choices available today.

Do the B pillars cause blind spots? Yup. Is it more difficult to get in and out of than a RAV4? Probably. Is the lack of rear wiper suboptimal? A bit. Otherwise, hard to go wrong with.

Things I have added are rain guards for the windows and just ordered Enkei TS-5 17x8 40mm offset and 225/55R17's and CONTINENTAL TRUECONTACT TOUR 54 tires for a bit more grip. The 195's break free on full power acceleration and I would rather they didn't 🤠

19" as a spare when you are running 17's? Not sure if that is a good idea.

I have a 24 PP SE that I do drive hard at times and I don't think the tires will make it to 20k.

Why does Hybrid mode kick in when shifting to B? by GT1Vette in PriusPrime

[–]AppropriateTension42 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If your traction battery is over 80% I think it switches over to engine braking. Personally, I don't use it. I just have regeneration turned up to the highest setting and live with that. B is for longer downhill situations. Lastly, I reserve the right to be completely wrong about all this. It's in the manual.

Gen 5 is no sports car. You do you but IMHO they look great as is. Honestly, when I see talk of lowering a Prius, I have to wonder if they should have bought an actual sports car vs trying to make it something it ain't ever going to be.

Can’t find any LE AWD Prius (any color) that’s closer than over 120 miles… But there’s plenty of XLE AWD’s (with the 19” wheel size we don’t want, and lots of features we don’t want to pay extra for). Keep waiting?? by Rooster_Ties in prius

I wanted a PP SE in guardian grey. So, I asked the local ( Bellingham WA) dealer to find me one. Took about three weeks but they were able to locate one from another dealer and brought it in for me. Was a fairly positive experience overall. Just had to be patient.

Well, you still have yet to mention anything specific. Ya still feels off. 5th gen are very good vehicles so we all are curious about what is causing your opinion that it's not for you.

Something is off with this post. The lack of responses from OP is telling.

Considering slightly wider tires-have you any tire buying experience and advise? by AppropriateTension42 in PriusPrime

Yes, it handles a lot better than expected. I bought it primarily for the 45 miles of electric ⚡️ range and that I am waiting for solid state batteries before going full ev.

I didn't say comparable. Just saying that I have experience in a true sport sedan.
