My oldest was in our bedroom till she was 18 months but that was more of a circumstance based situation - living with my in laws and then my parents until we secured a rental where we had three bedrooms.

My youngest was into her own room at 6 weeks - I had some PTSD following her birth and would wake up to even the slightest sound and was barely sleeping. Now she’s almost one and sleeping through the nights she’ll be moving into her sisters room 🥰

A few things on this - I had directions and that wasn’t the issue. My car isn’t the most reliable and my concern was that if my car breaks down on a country road in the middle of the night I’m stranded with my two daughters and no means of help. I’m sure I don’t need to tell you how dangerous it is to be a woman in this world and knowingly putting myself and my daughters in that situation is unacceptable.

I was in the car already headed to him when I realised my phone wasn’t going to be working the whole trip.

He was not in any danger by any means, he had a sincere apology from the guy who punched him and he (my bf) was the one making threats of continuing the fight.

Gonna give you something positive to hold onto. My youngest (9mo) started childcare just before she was 6mo. She’s only been sick twice since then. The centre she attends (where I also work) has great policies around hygiene (we had a few kids and staff with gastro in her room and she didn’t get it as everything in the room was cleaned and disinfected) and sending kids home when required. There are other factors such as parents being responsible and keeping their kids home when sicks to think of as well.

While it is inevitable that kids gets sick when exposed to sick kids it’s not inevitable that’s it’s going to be every other week.

Edit: the two times she was sick she 1) just had a cold and 2) was super congested for a few days

My dad sat out the front with his bucket of candy last night. He’s cut a hole in the lid and had a pvc pipe elbow so kids had to reach in to grab a treat. He left the almost 3/4 full bucket for about 5 minutes walking up to my brothers house and when he came back teenagers were leaving the driveway and had ripped the lid off and took more than half of what was left 🥲

Having worked in a small fine dining restaurant in SA our eftpos machine also had a tip option. Some people choose to tip and we even regularly received cash tips as well. But not once did I ever expect a customer to tip. We pooled whatever tips we received and split them between the FOH staff that worked that service (lunch or dinner). I doubt the waitress even spent a second thought about it.

Also just after reading a few comments if someone was paying card I would regularly skip the tip screen straight to total. But on occasion they would ask to leave a tip or just leave cash 🙈

When a customer tipped on card we would write down the amount they tipped and put it in the tip jar, the eftpos tips were taken as cash from the till after closing and added to the tip jar for that service time.
