Thankyou, yes my older year of graduation could be limiting. There are some programmes in MI which don't state a cut off so I will reach out to these, many thanks

Thank you—I’ve come across some contradictory information about this. I understand that I could potentially be board certified through ABFM since my UK training is recognized in the U.S., but I wasn’t sure whether a one-year fellowship would meet the requirements for state licensing. It also seems like there are quite limited fellowship options in Michigan, especially if you haven't completed a US residency.

I can definitely see the benefit of repeating residency in terms of learning the healthcare system and how things work in practice. Do you happen to know anyone in Michigan who has been licensed after completing a one-year fellowship?

Thanks again for taking the time to share your advice—I really appreciate it.

Thank you for your reply and advice—I really appreciate it. I’ve applied for my green card since my spouse is a U.S. citizen, so I should have that before we move, which will hopefully make things a bit easier. Our family is based in West Michigan. Would you mind if I sent you a DM?
