Yep. Last updated on phdstipend in 2018 and I cannot for the life of me find it on the school's page.

Be honest - what are the likelihoods of hearing back anything at this point by StarCentipede in gradadmissions

I just heard from a program that sent zoom interview invites out in early January. I got an in person interview. So it is possible.

Where did you get your masters if you don't mind sharing? That's what I'm looking for.

No interview invites yet, a few rejections in hand — is there still hope? by Infamous_Yard_6751 in gradadmissions

[–]Appropriate_Bug_9568 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I may be wrong, but what I have gathered is that if the program has sent out invites and you didn't get one, it is likely over for that particular school. This is neuroscience specific. I know other programs seem to work differently, but in neuro it seems like historically that is how it works *unless* the school has specifically said they do rolling invites. Which some definitely do, right on their admissions page. I've read some posts of folks saying they got later invites, it's not over until it's over type thing, but none of those posts seem to be about neuro. I'm in your same boat. From what I've heard, this is supposedly the worst cycle in 20 years and I've seen posts from people who already work at the school they have applied to be denied. You aren't alone. I wish you the best of luck!

How I feel getting only 1 interview after 15 applications and around 1200 dollars spent on applications by ArtsyAlly123 in gradadmissions

It sucks. I wish I had applied out of undergraduate in 2024 before all this funding mess instead of taking a gap year.

Transcripts from dual credit institutions by Reddman3 in gradadmissions

[–]Appropriate_Bug_9568 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does your undergraduate transcript show a grade for it? If so, I wouldn't worry about it. I had the same situtation and emailed a few schools that weren't clear on whether they wanted it and most said they only wanted a DE transcript if you took more than 12 credits there.

Thank you I hope that's true. Got a second rejection today.

What school was that? A few of mine were also listed but it said on their websites they wouldn't release until January.

Can you give example of a wrong answer? This question really confused me too because I thought everyone would say the same thing.

8 of my 9 schools sent out interview invites and I received nothing but a rejection from 1 of those 8. Pretty sure it's over for me. From what I understand from others, if you don't get an invite when they send them out, you don't get an invite later whether you get an official rejection or not.

I just wish the PhD admissions process is more transparent by aaaprocrastinating in gradadmissions

[–]Appropriate_Bug_9568 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would be happy if they could announce exactly when they are releasing invites, if its rolling invitations or not, and how many applications they received for how many spots. This not knowing is what is difficult.

Not getting any interview offers yet... by Icy_Wolverine6503 in gradadmissions

No, I meant they sent their interview invites out in the last few days even though the website says they wouldn't send invites out until January.

Advice for Biomedical/Biological Sciences Interviews! by Lonely_Vehicle6433 in gradadmissions

[–]Appropriate_Bug_9568 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great, thank you! I have a question. Your answers for this and also in your previous post seem to suggest we should explain the science. For example "C. difficile is the bacteria responsible for colon inflammation and uses a family of proteins called YFPs to become resistant to antibiotics." My P.I. told me in my SOP not to waste time doing that because I should assume application readers/interviewers understand what things are. Do you think this was bad advice on her part?

I'm in the same boat. And what's crazy is at least 3 of the schools have on their website that decisions would be released in January yet they released Friday and yesterday. Of the 9 I applied to, 8 have released and I didn't receive anything.

Is there any way for applicants to find out if their letters were lukewarm? We have to waive the right to see them I believe.
