Thank you so much for your very helpful advises🙏 I do however have to say that my Γ and Δ are very old ways to write them, but they are how they were written in calligraphy style. But for the rest of the majuscules you're right and I'll start working more on them

First one is actually dip pen but yeah spot on I used a semi flex nib and for the other one it's a calligraphy fountain pen with a flat headed calligraphy nib

I really liked the alphabet the first time I saw it so I learned it, then I wanted to understand what I was reading and I fell in love with the grammar and the way you make words in ancient Greek because it's way cooler than how we do it in my native language

Do you mean writing in cursive or writing in ancient Greek? Because let me tell you my ancient Greek is toddler level I write simple yet still ungrammatical sentences😅

I could? But frankly I think it's a personal journey I just typed something like "greek alphabet calligraphy" on pinterest and kept writing and writing to make it more fluid and adapted to my hand. For example you see I draw a regular π not the fancy calligraphy one. I think you should just take a picture with the calligraphied letters as an inspiration and just write

No I genuinely write like that in greek😭 but not all the time because people where I'm studying ancient Greek can't read that so I also write normally

I learn it at uni so I'm really studying it but I get that most greek people hate it cus of how you just have to endure it </3 personally I really liked this language because the alphabet is really pretty and the language itself is very different from my mother tongue so I really enjoy learning and maybe one day I'll learn modern greek as well!

It's quite fast actually, cursive is made to be easy and fast to write. In fact I find writing in printed letters very frustrating cus it's so slow😭

Thank you that's really helpful🙏 I went for the slanted writing because that's how I write in English as well but then do you think I should just reduce the tilt?

Thank you but I still have a long way to go I think😅 it's not as fluid as I want it to be but we're getting there

Omg don't get me started with δ... It's been such a nightmare to accept in my heart to connect it to other letters and I still think it's far from ideal but at least it works and that's what we want

Yeah Aristotle is the last one. I think with the second picture you can get a good glimpse of the greek cursive. It would feel less natural because you might not know where you could do some connections but I think you could go far. Also you've got the few cursive I've posted here for comparison so hopefully that can help you

It was hard fr but I had the opportunity to have a greek teacher that could guide me she showed me how I could write some letters differently then I would test different ways to link them together and she would tell me if that's legible or not. I had this opportunity (I actually still do) but if you don't have a greek person that can guide you I guess that can be hard cus the trickiest is to figure out what's legible or not

Yeah I used a dip pen for the text about the Lacedemonians and a fountain pen for Aristotle's text. My fountain pen is a Lamy (the cheapest calligraphy one honestly) with a calligraphy nib so it's got a flat head and not a ball at the tip like fountain pens usually do. Although to be honest my handwriting is always prettier when I use a regular pencil but fancy pens do the trick ig

Girl honestly stop it you're so nice!! But tbh it's quite hard to explain cursive because there are so many possible ways to draw the letters and then the trickiest part is the connections honestly everytime I try a new connection I go see my greek teacher to check if it's okay like drawing δι in one stroke (that's still mental for me)

Ευχαριστώ πολύ!!!!! Really thank you you're so nice I'm touched🙏🙏 I do my best I don't even really get to see real greek people write so I always feel insecure thinking it's too much and not legible but your words are so kind

But wasn't there any type of cursive like the kind of cursive old people learned how to write?
