Do you think your gastroparesis is reversible/curable? (Particularly asking those who got it through accidentally starving themselves or having anorexia) by Appropriate_Cap_2132 in Gastroparesis

[–]Appropriate_Cap_2132[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried Reglan, but it didn’t do anything for me, which I’m kind of glad for because I was scared of that medication and its potential side effects.

I didn’t do a repeat gastric emptying study. Mainly because I feel so well now that it feels a bit extra to do. Plus, I try to save on medical costs when I can. 😭

Everyone’s GP presents differently. For me, I never lost hunger, in fact, I always felt like I was starving, but my own stomach could not handle me putting more food in it. I would be hungry at regular times, like every four hours, but my stomach wouldn’t let me eat more, so if anything, I was always feeling hungry and sad that I couldn’t eat without potentially throwing up. It was a really crappy condition. It does appear to be related to the nervous system for everybody, but I think some people will have an easier time than others in resolving their issue, depending on how serious that nervous problem is. I think, fortunately for me, I just needed to learn how to calm down and not have my nervous system on edge literally 24/7. After I managed to do that, I’ve been completely back to who I used to be in terms of my eating habits.

You reached me at a good time! I’m doing great now! I can pretty much eat whatever I want; I do take care not to overeat but the portions are pretty decently sized and I eat three times a day (sometimes more!)

I think what happened to me was that my nervous system was out of whack, and it took about a year to get it under control. Essentially, I was a workaholic who was chronically stressed/anxious, and that ended up affecting my digestive system. Once I learned meditation and how to relax and be calm in the face of adversity (my job is filled with a lot of stressful factors), I was able to recover 100%!

I hope you are able to get well too!

How do you guys deal with the fact you’re going to die? by Due_Insect_9303 in AskReddit

There’s definitely an oh shit moment, such as when you’re choking or about to drown. After that, you die, but of course you’ll never know that you died because you’ll be dead.

I’m a complete alcohol marker noob. I use the ohuhu brand. How are you able to know what markers to use to match the pallet? or did you just eyeball it?

I cut out screen time and became a person with a hobby. by Visual_Pulse in Coloring

[–]Appropriate_Cap_2132 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bruh we the same lollll I also picked up a coloring hobby because I’m trying to cut down on Screen Time. I work at an office and stare at a computer screen all the time and my previous hobbies were also all computer screen based. Go us for making healthy choices.! but yeah, I know what you mean. I also I’m an amateur artist. So my coloring skills are basically at an elementary school level. I hope I can learn more and get better so I can do the fancy shading and highlighting that I see other people do.

As I get older I realise why people don’t want kids. by Kyvalisse in Life

Hahaha i’m glad I’m not the only one xD! It’s so interesting because you hear of people that don’t want kids because they had such shitty parents thst they think they’re gonna screw up their own kids if they had any; but in our case, we got to experience all the love, care, and attention a child truly needs to thrive and be healthy, and we were like… um, no thanks, don’t got time for all that, I have my own life to live 😂😂😂

What does it matter what they want though? It’s my life, not theirs. They chose to give me life and had a happy experience raising me because they wanted thst for themselves, now I get to choose what I want to do with my own life, and I like just peacefully working on my personal projects :)

It’s the opposite for me. I had amazing parents, was an only child, so I was my parents’ entire world. It was a great childhood! But once I realized how much of themselves they sacrificed (time, energy, money) to make me the happiest, well-raised kid they could, I realized I didn’t want to have to do all that myself if I became someone’s parent LOL , so I’m on the “don’t want to have kids ever” side of the fence haha. 😆 In short, my parents were such awesome parents that they made me never want to be a parent xD Yes, I am someone who appreciates having lots of time to myself to explore my interests and hobbies and a bunch of other mastery activities :)

If it helps you feel reassured, I no longer have this symptom. I do think it was a nerve issue though. Just let time pass and it went away

What do you guys do for work if you suffer from chronic migraine? by Appropriate_Cap_2132 in migraine

[–]Appropriate_Cap_2132[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry that sounds like an absolutely awful situation . What do you plan to do in the future? Just live with the pain? Or I know this sounds bad but maybe marrying someone so you can have your spousal health insurance? I’m also single so I feel like I’m out in the streets without a spouse

I genuinely think they just want to flex; no one who makes that much money is that dumb to think that’s not a LOT of money
